Today’s Fortnite update brought a lot of new content. This comes as no surprise considering this was the first major update of Chapter 5. Besides Battle Royale, other modes also received new stuff, including LEGO Fortnite and Rocket Racing.

Fortnite update today and patch notes

The Fortnite Battle Royale island received a major change with today’s update. The snow, which covered most of the map in the first month and a half, has melted in many parts. It is now only covering the eastern side of the island.

NOTE: These are incomplete Fortnite patch notes. The update just came out, so we will update this article with more information soon.

The v28.10 update brought other gameplay changes as well, along with new cosmetics. To sum it all up, here are the patch notes:

  • Added EMP Stealth Camo item
    • This item is similar to Clock Gauntlets and grants almost full invisibility
  • Enforcer AR received a major buff
    • Headshot damage increased, as well as damage for Uncommon to Mythic rarities. The assault rifle now also has less recoil and a faster recoil recovery time
  • Anvil Rocket Launcher unvaulted
  • Cardboard Box unvaulted
  • Snow melted in the northern part of the island, revealing a new biome
  • Super Styles added to Fortnite and can be unlocked through the Battle Pass
  • Many new skins arrived with the update, including Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Raiden from Metal Gear
    • Most of these skins will come to the Item Shop at a later date
  • New Reality Augments added to game files
    • Quickend Camo – Gain increased movement speed while stealthed, gain a Stealth Camo item
    • Gilded Survivor – Gain bars as you survive on the island. Gain 150 bars every time the storm circle updates
    • Countless Crash Pad Jrs – Gain a few Crash Pad Jrs. Gain more when the storm changes
    • Hide and Heal – Gain a Cardboard Box and regenerate health and partial shields while in a hidable prop
  • New Narrative quests added
  • Fortnite Crew pack for February 2024 was added
  • Locker UI was slightly modified

LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival patch notes

With the release of Chapter 5, Epic Games added three new game modes that already have millions of players. If you play these modes, here are the patch notes for them. Unsurprisingly, LEGO Fortnite received a big update with new items and a new mode.

LEGO Fortnite

  • Many skins received their LEGO Fortnite variants, including Thanos and Scarlet Witch
  • The PvP mode for LEGO Fortnite was leaked, may arrive later this week
  • Launch Pad added
  • New Dagger weapon added
  • It is now possible to eat while moving
  • Added ability to ping locations in the world

Fortnite Festival

  • New Fortnite Festival Drum Sets
  • New Jam Tracks bundles added
  • Added option to randomize Fortnite Festival instruments

Rocket Racing

  • Added Drift Trails
    • New quests will soon go live, allowing you to earn these trails for free
  • New Rocket Racing Endo bundle was also added
  • Car collision is now less severe
  • Air dodging is smother when landing
  • Fixed bugs
