As Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 edges closer, new details have been revealed regarding what to expect from the game following the mythology theme of Season 2. The rumored post-apocalyptic theme has a lot more weight now, as it has been revealed that Epic Games is set to team up with Bethesda on a new Fortnite x Fallout collaboration which will kick off the upcoming season.
Prominent Fortnite leaker iFireMonkey reported a news feed update for Fortnite which has revealed that the Fallout collaboration will coincide with the release of Chapter 5 Season 3 on May 24th,
“Chapter 5 Season 3: Wrecked Courtesy of the Brotherhood of Steel. Chapter 5 Season 3: Wrecked comes to Battle Royale on May 24.”
This wouldn’t be the first time that Epic Games and Bethesda have worked together, with a Nord Warrior skin from The Elder Scrolls Online added to the game in 2023. The pair also teamed up to include Doom Slayer in the Chapter 4 Season 1 Battle Pass.
A Fallout TV show was recently released on Amazon Prime Video which has become one of the standout shows of the year, bringing plenty of new interest to the franchise. The most recent single-player entry in the series, 2015’s Fallout 4, has also seen a next-gen update last month, with improved visuals and gameplay, as well as a PS5 release.
There have been rumors that Chapter 5 Season 3 will have a post-apocalyptic theme, so this collaboration plays into that perfectly and it will be interesting to see how much of an impact the Fallout franchise will have on the season. In the past, we’ve seen many collaboration skins be included in the Battle Pass, usually as the “secret skin” that is released on week 7, which has included the likes of Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher, and Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid. We have also seen collaboration characters prominently featured in the Battle Pass, including Family Guy’s Peter Griffin, and the previously mentioned Doom Slayer.
It will be interesting to see which characters from the Fallout franchise will make an appearance in the game. Could we see Jonesy in a Vault outfit? Or will characters from the series show up? Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 will begin in one week on May 24th so we don’t have long to wait before we find out.
With the new season on the horizon, Fortnite now has permanent Supercharged XP activated for the remainder of Season 2 to help players unlock all of the cosmetics in the Battle Pass. The recent Fortnite x Star Wars collaboration is still ongoing, with players able to unlock exclusive cosmetics and items for both LEGO Fortnite and Rocket Racing, as well as jam to the iconic Cantina Theme in Fortnite Festival. Speaking of Fortnite Festival, the mode is currently in Season 3 which includes Billie Eilish as the featured performer, with the latest Jam Tracks bringing the likes of Avenged Sevenfold to the game.
