How to Sell Players in FM 23?

  • Click on the player you wish to transfer and list them for transfer. Wait for their reactions.
  • Wait for clubs to bid for the player.
  • Initial bids are usually lower than the players’ market value, so you may have to bargain a bit before selling the player.
  • If no club bids, you can offer the player to a club.
  • The player may have some objections that he will raise through his agent, so keep an eye out for that.
  • You may need to discuss this with the player, but explaining that you want to raise some funds and will not necessarily sell them should immediately alleviate the player’s mood.
  • When the bids come in, you will be able to negotiate.
  • In addition to the base fee for the player, you can include performance-based bonuses and sell-on fees to include the overall transfer fee without putting the buying club in a tough spot.
  • Negotiate carefully. If your negotiating tactics are too intense, clubs can pull out of negotiations.
  • A player may also reject the move if you did not have a proper discussion with them beforehand.
  • After you make the sale, the club will allocate a predetermined amount to your transfer budget.

Just like in real life, in-game players have egos, and as manager, your job is to manage them delicately.

Treating players with respect will reward you in the long run. Players that are more invested in the club may object, but other players will move along without too much fuss.
