The studios have also declared that there will be a two week early access period for those who pre purchase the game on PC.
FM23: Confirmed platforms
There’ll be four ‘flavours’ of Football Manager 2023 in total, all of them set to release on the same day.
The classic traditional Football Manager 2023 will be available on PC and Mac. It’ll also be available from launch on PC Game Pass.
FM23 Console is streamlined and optimised for console play. It’ll be that version that arrives on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and – for the first time in the series – PlayStation 5.
FM23 Touch sees the Touch series return after a year’s hiatus. That’ll be the version available on Apple Arcade (allowing play on iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple TV), and the Nintendo Switch.
Finally, FM 23 Mobile will be the version you’ll want if you’re playing on iOS and Android phones.
Will FM23 be on PlayStation 5?
Yes, in a huge announcement Football Manager 2023 is coming to PlayStation 5 for the first time.
After last year Football Manager came to Xbox, it is now available on each of the major consoles including the Nintendo Switch.
No products found.
PlayStation will have the Console version of the game – the same as the Xbox. Whereas the Nintendo Switch version of Football Manager is Football Manager touch, the same as last year.
Although it will be the console version of the game, there will be features that are completely unique to PlayStation 5. We are still unsure exactly what these features are but we know they will take advantage of the PlayStation DualSense
FM23: Expected new features
We are still unsure on what to expect from Football Manager 2023, however there will of course be some tweaks and updates to the football sim. We’re told we’ll get more information in the weeks leading up to launch.
Studio director Miles Jacobson all but confirmed women’s football will be added to the game, after years of rumours circulating about its inclusion.
Who knows? We’ve already Juventus return to EA’s FIFA 23, so this may even be the year we see the Italian giants back in Football Manager after a prolonged absence.
FM23: Champions League is here
The official announcement for Football Manager 2023 was very light on information about new content. However there was one major reveal in the announcement. Official UEFA Licenses will be joining the game.
It has been confirmed we can expect the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League to appear in Football Manager 2023 as fully licensed competitions.
We are expecting more to follow soon.
FM23: Confirmed price
Football Manager 2023 has broadly the same pricing structure as last year’s game.
FM23 is £44.99/$54.99 on Steam, the Epic Game Store or the Microsoft Store. There is a 20% discount for people who pre-order the game.
Pricing is still to be confirmed for the other versions. However the Xbox version will be available via the Game Pass subscription service.
FM Touch on the Switch cost £29.99/$39.99 last year, while the mobile version was £8.99/$8.99.
Will there be a Football Manager 2023 beta?
Rather than a beta, Sports Interactive are offering an early access for FM23. While it’s yet to give exact dates for the early access, it says it expects it “roughly two weeks prior” to the street date.
Therefore, the early access for Football Manager 2023 should start on October 25. However, that date is subject to change with SI warning it may be different times for different platforms.
How can I access Football Manager 2023 beta?
The FM23 early access beta will be available for those who have pre purchased the game from Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store, as well as from “SEGA-approved digital retailers”.
Any progress made in Career Mode can be carried over to the full game. As an extra incentive, Sports Interactive are also offering 20% off FM 2022 and Beta Early Access.
