EA has urged Skate fans not to download the cracked playtest for Skate 4 that is currently out in the wild.
The closed playtest for Skate 4 went down very well with people generally. However, someone was able to hack the playtest and circulate it online, for anyone to download.
EA released a statement (via VGC) about the cracked version, saying:
“We’re aware of an earlier version of the game that has been distributed without our authorization. This build is from September 2021 and was never intended for external use.
“While we understand you’re excited to get into the game, we encourage you to be careful when downloading files from unknown sources.”
The company also pointed out that downloading the cracked playtest is a violation of its Terms of Use. This means that EA may ban people caught doing so from playing other EA products. Not just Skate 4.
In other Skate 4 news, footage of the alpha leaked online, back in April. We still don’t know when the game is coming out, but it seems as if it may still be a long way off.
It is a much-missed EA series. In VideoGamer’s review of Skate 3, Tom Orry said:
“The core gameplay is as good as it’s ever been, the new city is great, and there’s no denying that the sense of achievement when you finally nail a trick after hours of practice is almost unrivalled.”
