Diablo 4 community manager Adam Fletcher has revealed that a hotfix for the bugged Helltide Cinder drop rate has now been released following a wave of community backlash.
In a message posted through the official Diablo 4 forums, the recently launched hotfix has apparently “fixed an issue where the overall drop rate of Aberrant Cinders in Helltide was lower than intended,” meaning you should now be able to farm for loot in the blood-soaked fields to your heart’s content.
However, this isn’t the only fix that’s been provided as Blizzard has also apparently “fixed an issue where Seeds of Hatred could be collected at an extreme rate when using the Hatred’s Chosen buff against Necromancer minions and Druid pets.” The buff has now apparently been re-enabled with this same hotfix, so you should no longer have any issue roaming through the Fields of Hatred – apart from PvP campers, that is.
ORIGINAL STORY FOLLOWS: It’s been no secret that Diablo 4 Season 1 hasn’t quite lived up to the community’s expectations after the backlash that it immediately received upon the release of the latest set of patch notes.
With numerous players already review bombing the game on Metacritic, it’s safe to say that this isn’t quite the reaction the developers had been hoping for ahead of the Diablo 4 Season 1 start date. In addition, Helltide Cinder drop rates have become exceedingly abysmal since the update’s release, which has only made the fan base even more livid as some are now apparently planning on boycotting the first season.
With this in mind, it may be best to avoid Helltide events for now as several users have reported that it is nearly impossible to gather the necessary amount of Cinders to open the newly priced Tortured Gift of Mysteries. Over on Reddit, user Maize_Individual even created a post saying: “You cannot gather 250 Cinders in an hour of the new Helltide.” “It’s [mathematically] impossible, tried twice and gave up. Was this even tested,” they continued.
Fortunately, community manager Adam Fletcher and Diablo 4 general manager Rod Fergusson have confirmed that the horrid Helltide Cinder drop rates that have been prevalent since the most recent patch’s launch is merely a bug and a fix is set to arrive soon. Alas, it’s still currently unclear when the promised hotfix is going to be released since the first season has only just begun. However, we may find out more soon enough as the development team also revealed that there will a Campfire Chat addressing all of the players’ concerns.
