The next Call of Duty game is quickly approaching. It’s a return to Modern Warfare 3, and it is set to come out next month. Some division amongst the CoD community has emerged online, but plenty of people still plan to purchase it regardless of price. These Call of Duty fans have voted on why they’re buying MW3, and the results are split.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 launches on November 10th, but you can play early access for the campaign on November 2nd. There was a beta earlier in October, but you should know that none of your beta progress will carry over to the full game’s multiplayer. The edition you need to buy is the Vault edition which comes with early access as well as Operator packs and weapon vaults.

Whether you plan to buy the Standard or most expensive edition, there are many reasons to buy this year’s entry from Activision. And fans have been voting on what’s pulling them towards MW3 the most.

CoD fans vote on why they’re buying MW3

Over on Reddit, Call of Duty fans have been voting on the biggest reason that has convinced them to buy MW3. The options are as follows:

  • Old features reintroduced (red hot minimap, map voting, etc.)
  •  Tactical stance
  •  I buy CoD every year regardless
  •  Remastered MW2 maps/leaked classic Treyarch-SHG-IW maps
  •  MW2 skins carry over
  •  New zombies

As of writing, the main reason CoD fans are buying MW3 is because they buy the new game every year regardless. This is followed by the reintroduction of old features in second place, and remastered MW2 maps in third place. New zombies are anticipated, and the results are nearly evenly split with the first and second ever so close. The least appealing reason as of writing is the tactical stance.

In the comments, several users listed another reason which is to play the campaign. Another user said Dead Silence as a perk, meanwhile, some others said they’re not buying the game until it goes on sale. Aside from a sale, you could potentially wait for MW3 to arrive with other Call of Duty games on Game Pass in 2024 following the completion of the Xbox and Activision deal.

There is disgruntlement in the Call of Duty community over the perceived notion that MW3 is nothing more than glorified and premium-priced DLC for MW2. The split in the fanbase over this viewpoint is noticeable, but one fan used a classic SpongeBob meme to prove that MW3 is not overpriced DLC. Not everyone will be convinced, but, always, Call of Duty will most definitely sell ridiculously well when it comes out in November. For one, it’s Call of Duty, and two, there’s very little stiff competition in November unlike October which has been packed with Assassin’s Creed, Spider-Man2, and Alan Wake.

In other Call of Duty news, an MW3 PS5 Slim bundle has reportedly leaked. This iteration of Sony’s current-gen machine is coming out in November, and some fans are worried over the PS5 Slim disc drive internet requirement.
