Cocoon is an upcoming puzzle-adventure game, with an insectoid edge, from Jeppe Carlsen, the lead gameplay designer of Limbo and Inside.
Check out the reveal trailer for the game below:
The description reads:
“From Jeppe Carlsen, the lead gameplay designer of Limbo and Inside—Cocoon takes you on an adventure across worlds within worlds. Master world-leaping mechanics to unravel a cosmic mystery.”
As you can see, the game seems to have a leaning toward puzzles and exploration. You appear to be playing as an insectoid fellow and charged with poking around a number of alien-looking environments. It’s no surprise that Cocoon comes from the work of someone who worked on Limbo and Inside.
There is no fixed release date for the game yet. It is scheduled for release in 2023, on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. It will launch on Xbox Game Pass.
Cocoon was shown off during the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase. We also got a longer look at Starfield in action. Hideo Kojima turned up and said hello to Phil Spencer, before announcing his intention to bring something new to Xbox. And we got a good look at Redfall, which is coming out next year. Plus, if you like Metroidvanias, check out The Last Case of Benedict Fox.
