Who is Makarov in MW3 campaign?
In previous games, Vladimir Makarov was the leader of a group called Ultranationalists and was mentored by Imran Zakhaev. Makarov was a discreet, yet influential antagonist in the original Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and then became the main antagonist in Modern Warfare 3 (2011).
After multiple teasers in the Campaign and Raids mode of Modern Warfare 2 (2022), the biggest takeaway is that a Russian group is now cooperating with someone new. And it was none other than the series’ most iconic villain Makarov himself.
It has now been officially confirmed that Modern Warfare 3 (2023) will see the return of Makarov as the main antagonist and as a whole new character. After his horrifying actions in MW2 (2009), Makarov continues to hunt fans as one of the most terrifying characters in the Modern Warfare saga and players will have to face the Russian once again in November.
In the new trailer, Captain Price’s voice describes Makarov as the, Ultimate threat,” and as, A force of evil, who seeks to tear the world apart, piece by piece.” Adding that, “To him, every ally is a weapon, every bystander a shield.”
Who is playing Makarov in MW3 2023?
Bulgarian actor Julian Kostov will play the role of Makarov in Modern Warfare 3. The actor took to social media to share the news after the trailer was released.
Kostov is also a producer who’s known for his role in TV shows and movies such as Shadow and Bone (2021), Temple (2019), and the upcoming remake of The Toxic Avenger from 1984.
