Want to know how many Korok seeds are in Tears of the Kingdom? Then you have come to the right place. Now the game is out and being played by millions of gamers around the world, you’ll soon have a load of questions. One such question revolves around Korok seeds which are scattered across Hyrule, specifically how many are there.

Tears of the Kingdom Korok seeds can be exchanged for pouch slots in Link’s inventory space. To to do, you’ll need to drop them off to Hestu at Lookout Landing. He’ll then swap them in exchange for inventory slots for items such as Link’s shield, bow or weapon. Plus, if you collect them all, you get a bonus, which we explain below.

How many Korok seeds are in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

There are 900 Korok seeds to be found in Tears of the Kingdom, which is actually the same amount that you could find in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. If you find them all and return them to Hestu, he will give Link a ‘gift of friendship’ reward. Don’t get too excited about that one, though. All it does is allow Hestu to dance on command.

Just like the last game, you’re going to need 441 Korok seeds to maximise all of the stashes, and giving Link the maximum amount of slots per applicable item, so there’s no pressure to find all the 900. That being said, it’s a brilliant bragging right for the completionists among you.

In total, 441 seeds are required to maximize all of the stashes. Completing the stashes will give Link a final total of 19 weapons slots (plus 1 for the Master Sword), 13 bow slots (plus 1 for the Bow of Light) and 20 shield slots

Where can you find Korok seeds?

Korok seeds usually are found when you complete when of the many small puzzles in the land of Hyrule. So if you stumble across a puzzle, chances are a Korok seed will be what’s waiting for you upon successful completion. Fun fact, Hidemaro Fujibayshi confirmed that Korok seeds are in fact Korok feces, hence why they smell so bad.

“We just kind of thought it would be funny to make that a big joke,” Fujibayashi told IGN in a 2017 interview. “It’s just the backstory, the kind of hidden kind of thing in the game the whole way is that the Korok seeds are actually Korok poop.”

When you do collect all 900 in TOTK, you’ll receive a golden poop from Hestu to mark the occasion. If that’s not an incentive to collect them all, nothing is.
