One such gameplay change is the new Fuse ability. You’re going to need to acquire the Fuse ability before you can think about making a fan.
How to make a Korok fan in Tears of the Kingdom
You will need to acquire the Fuse ability to create a fan in Tears of the Kingdom. The good news is that you get the ability to Fuse very early, it’s actually picked up from one of the first shrines in the game, In-isa Shrine. You can read our full Tears of the Kingdom In-isa Shrine guide here.
Once you have completed that shrine, to make a fan you need two items. a Korok Frond and a Tree Branch. A Korok Frond is essentially a huge leaf, which can picked up nearly anyway in the Hyrule kingdom. Tree Branches are, as you can guess, found on trees, which are once again plentiful in Tears of the Kingdom. One you’ve got those two items, please follow these steps:
- Open up your inventory by pressing the START button on your Nintendo Switch
- Head to the items menu and then Materials
- Select the Korok Frond and drop it on the floor
- Equip a tree branch and assign as your primary weapon
- Use Fuse to attach the Korok Frond to the Tree Branch by pressing Y on your Nintendo Switch controller
- You have successfully created a Korok fan
