Tears of the Kingdom elemental arrows work a bit differently from previous The Legend of Zelda games. While they were previously their own individual arrows that could be found throughout the game or activated via magic, you’ll need to craft them yourself in Tears of the Kingdom.

To create these arrows you’ll need to make use of the Tears of the Kingdom Fuse ability. If you’re looking to increase the amount of bows you can carry with you, take a look at our guide for Tears of the Kingdom Hetsu locations to get more weapon slot upgrades.

How to Fuse materials to arrows in Tears of the Kingdom

To Fuse a material to your arrow, you’ll first need to complete the Tears of the Kingdom In-isa Shrine on Great Sky Island. Afterward, equip a borrow and arrow and hold down the ZR button to aim. Hold up on the D-pad and a menu of potential Fuse materials will come up. Use left and right on the right stick to select which material you want, stop holding up on the D-pad, and the material will be attached to your arrow. From there, you can start Fusing Tears of the Kingdom elemental arrows.

How to make Tears of the Kingdom fire arrows

You’ll need some kind of flaming material to Fuse onto your bow as you’re aiming it. Fire fruit will likely be the first one you come across, so attach that and you’ve got yourself a flaming arrow. It’s worth noting that fire extinguishes very quickly in the rain, so don’t bother trying to set anything alight outside in Tears of the Kingdom while it’s pouring it down.

How to make Tears of the Kingdom shock arrows

For these, you’ll want some kind of electrified material. A few options will be a shock fruit, yellow Chuchu jelly, electric Keese wing, and a shock Like stone. Shock arrows have an increased range in rainy conditions, so they can be great for disabling groups of enemies clumped together, although you’ll want to keep your distance as getting shocked can put you at a major disadvantage.

How to make Tears of the Kingdom freezing arrows

Freezing arrows will require materials with freezing properties. An example of this is white Chuchu jelly. When you fire off a freezing arrow it creates quite a large cloud halting enemies in place, but if you let one off too close to Link he’ll also get hit by it.

How to make Tears of the Kingdom homing arrows

If you’re looking for homing arrows, you’ll need to Fuse your arrows with monster eyeballs. The most common of these are Keese eyeballs, but you can also use Octorock eyeballs and Aerocuda eyeballs. These will lock on to enemies in the near-periphery of the arrow’s range, making them extremely useful for flying or fast moving creatures.
