Looking for the The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom cast? Then you’ve come to the right place. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was the first Zelda game to feature fully voice acted cutscenes (we don’t talk about the CD-i games), and fans are keen to see who is voicing who in the sequel, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

With cutscenes playing such a critical role in BotW’s story, we’re not surprised they play a huge part in Tears of the Kingdom also. Now that the Tears of the Kingdom release date has been and gone, what better time to familiarize yourself with the Tears of the Kingdom cast behind the characters.

Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom cast

That’s right, Link has a voice actor, but no, this doesn’t mean he has any actual dialogue. The voice actor for Link in BotW, Kengo Takanashi, is returning to do the same in TotK. Instead of speaking, however, he provides all the sounds Link makes, like shouting, grunts, grunting, gasping, and more.

This makes Link the only character with the same voice actor for both the Japanese and English dubs – the more you know. According to his IMDB page, Takanashi’s previous credits include Super Mario Bros. Ultimate – where he once again voiced Link, and the TV series Kamen Rider Amazons.

Patricia Summersett as Zelda

Probably the most recognisable voice returning from BotW, Patricia Summersett once again voices Princess Zelda in TotK. Summersett has also appeared in the EA’s Star Wars: Squadrons, where she voiced a pilot, and her TV credits include Three Pines and Transplant.

Tears of the Kingdom cast: A close-up of Ganondorf with a glowing spot on his forehead, surrounded by red energy.

Matthew Mercer as Ganondorf

A role as big as Ganondorf needs to be done right, and Nintendo have done just that by bringing on prolific voice actor Matthew Mercer for the role. Mercer has lent his voice to franchises like Resident Evil, Overwatch, and Fire Emblem, as well as roles in anime, film, and TV. Fans of the Arkham series may recognise his voice, as he played Anarky in Batman: Arkham Origins.

Tears of the Kingdom cast: Link and Sidon fighting together against a construct.

Jamie Mortellaro as Sidon

Prince of the Zora, Sidon, certainly became a fan favourite in BotW, with Jamie Mortellaro providing the voice acting for the always upbeat Zora. Unfortunately, while he had plenty of dialogue with Link, very little of it was voice acted. Sidon plays a more active role in TotK’s story, so hopefully Mortellaro will have more chances to shine as everyone’s favourite Zora Prince. His previous credits include Hitman (2016) and Horizon Zero Dawn.

Tears of the Kingdom cast: Riju wielding two scimitars and preparing to use a lightning attack.

Elizabeth Maxwell as Riju

With the young Chief of the Gerudo, Riju, making a return in Tears of the Kingdom, that means a return for Elizabeth Maxwell as her voice actress. Just like Sidon, Riju plays a larger role in the TotK story compared to BotW. Maxwell also provided the voice for Urbosa in BotW, so we can expect to hear her reprise that role too, should Urbosa feature in any flashbacks. Her previos roles include Attack on Titan, the world-famous anime.
