Wondering how to get arrows in Tears of the Kingdom? Pulling back your bow for a finishing shot only to find that you’ve eaten through your stock of arrows can be frustrating, if not lethal. It’s a situation that pops up quite regularly in The Legend of Zelda TotK mainly because the Fuse ability allows you to conjure up all manner of elemental arrow combinations that are, let’s face it, a lot of fun. It’s no wonder many players are nursing a meagre handful of arrows at the best of times.

We’ll walk you through all the best ways to get and farm arrows in Tears of the Kingdom. Once you’ve amassed a decent stock, be sure to brush up on Tears of the Kingdom elemental arrow crafting. We also have a breakdown of all the Tears of the Kingdom shrine locations if you’re looking for your next activity.

Here’s are several ways to get arrows in Tears of the Kingdom:

Smash crates and barrels

Smashing crates and barrels around Hyrule typically rewards you with multiple arrows. You’ll find these in enemy camps out in the wild, in caves and caverns, in abandoned buildings, and in many other places on the map. The crates and barrels respawn after every Tears of the Kingdom blood moon, so you can conceivably return to several spots every so often to stock up on arrows.

Pick up stray arrows

Though Link is a pretty deft shot, the occasional arrow won’t hit its target. Instead of disappearing into the pixely ether, these arrows will land on the ground for you to pick up. After a heated battle, it’s worth scouring the general area for stray arrows to replenish your stock.

Loot shrine chests

Though this isn’t the most efficient way to get arrows in Tears of the Kingdom given that Shrine chests are typically hidden behind tough, optional puzzles, it’s an option. Chests in Shrines around Lookout Landing in the early game typically contain a bundle of up to ten arrows, so are well worth getting if you’re ticking off Tears of the Kingdom Shrines anyway.

Loot defeated enemies

Along with a surfeit of weapons, body parts, shields, and other items, enemies occasionally drop arrows when they die. This is especially the case for archers, who’ll usually drop an arrow or two, sometimes more, when you defeat them.

Enemy archers

Unlike Link, enemy archers have an unlimited supply of arrows. Use that to your advantage. Find a Bokoblin camp, ideally one with an elevated platform with an archer perched on top. Take out all the enemies except for the archer, then find some cover – a rock, tree, structure, anything will do as long as you can avoid the arrows. Hide behind the cover and make sure the archer is targetting Link and attacking, then just sit and wait. The archer will take shot after shot with the arrows falling on the ground around Link. From there, simply trot around picking them up. There doesn’t appear to be a limit to how many arrows you can get this way, making it the most efficient way to get arrows in Tears of the Kingdom.

Buy arrows from merchants

Merchants and vendors across Hyrule typically sell arrows, notably in Rito Village and Lookout Landing in the early game. Travelling merchants, such as the red nosed vendor that springs up randomly out in the world or a stables, also sell arrows. They are, however, very expensive and as such are an inefficient way to get arrows in Tears of the Kingdom. If you’re flush with rupees, by all means, go on a spending spree, but for most players, the rupees are better put to use elsewhere such as buying the best Tears of the Kingdom armor.

That covers how to get arrows in Tears of the Kingdom. Make sure to unlock all the Tears of the Kingdom Skyview Tower locations and Tears of the Kingdom stable locations to make getting around Hyrule a little easier.
