The next webslinging epic from Marvel is almost here, so you may be wondering about the Spider-Man 2 preload on the PS5. As we approach the official release, downloading key files early will help you play sooner at launch.
In this new Spider-Man game, you will play as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales and face new threats as you swing from building to building. Spider-Man 2 PS5 preload date
Insomniac has now confirmed that the Spider-Man 2 preload on the PS5 has begun from October 13, giving you a full week ahead of the Spider-Man 2 release date to download the game on your PlayStation 5 console.
Preloading is only available if you have pre-ordered the digital copy of the game from the official PlayStation Store. It is important to note that preloading the game isn’t the same as early access. Preloading lets you do a chunk of the download before the game releases, which means less waiting around for large downloads to complete on launch day.

The Spider-Man 2 preload is already under way, having started around midnight local time on October 13 so you can start downloading right now.

The Spider-Man 2 download is a bit of a hefty one, so be prepared to make some space on your console for it – the download clocks in at around 86.3 GB on the PlayStation 5 for the game’s Standard Edition at launch. How to preload Spider-Man 2
If you have purchased a digital copy of Spider-Man 2 for PS5, you’re going to be able to pre-download it by heading over to your game library.
- Open your PS5 Game Library (far right on your home menu)
- Navigate to the “Your Collection” page
- Click on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and download the game after the preload date and time
Preload will be available to anyone who purchases the digital version before the game releases. Once the game is out in the wild, preloading the game won’t be necessary or available on the PS5. We can expect the game to be fairly large, taking up a considerable chunk of space on the PS5’s storage.
