First introduced back in Generation VI, in Pokemon X/Y, Litleo makes a return in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
This Lion Cub is an adorable Pokemon with oversized ears and paws, and a tuft of red hair on top of his head. It can evolve into Pyroar, which has a very strong move-set and will be beneficial to have in your party.

How to Get Litleo in Scarlet and Violet?
The small lion cub can be caught pretty early on in the game when you go into the fields of South Province, Area Three.
Due to its much weaker stats compared to Pyroar, catching a Litleo is a fairly easy task. The base type of Litleo is Normal/Fire, so make sure to have a Pokemon that complements this type. Go with a Water or a Fighting-type Pokemon and you can easily whittle down Litleo’s health.
Due to the fact that Litleo can be easily caught, it can be a very useful Fire-type Pokemon in your roster, especially if you started out with either Sprigatito or Quaxly. We would highly recommend having at least one Fire-type Pokemon in your party for the more difficult battles near the end-game. Because Litleo can be caught early on in the game, you’ll have much more time to train it.

Once Litleo Evolves into Pyroar, the Fire-type moves it learns are very strong and can give you a definitive edge in battles. If you want to avoid going through the hassle of manually training a Litleo, however cute it may be, then you can directly catch a Pyroar as well. Try your luck around the Dalizapa Passage and Glaseado mountains where it can be found prowling about.

How To Evolve Litleo Into Pyroar?
Evolving Litleo is a bit tedious, as it needs to hit Level 35 before it can evolve. Fortunately, there is no complicated requirement to evolve it, like holding an item, so that’s a plus.
Most of the attacks learned by Litleo are Normal, status effect attacks, and it’s not until the later levels that it starts to learn physical attacks. There is, however, a shortage of Fire-type attacks, so the sooner you evolve it into Pyroar, the better.

Pyroar will learn Flamethrower at Level 38, Incinerate at Level 51, and Overheat at Level 57. All three of these moves are extremely powerful, and when used tactically, can easily one-shot any weaker Pokemon.
Due to the fact that Pyroar’s highest stat is, in fact, its special attack, all of these Fire-type moves get an even bigger bonus in the amount of damage they conflict on the opponent. Contrarily, the standard Attack stat of either of the two Pokemon isn’t very impressive, so try to avoid physical attacks in situations where you need to output the maximum damage.

Final Thoughts
A fire-type Pokemon can be of huge benefit to your party. It’s even better if the said Fire-type Pokemon can be found early on in the game and can grow with you.
That’s exactly where Litleo shines. It may not be a particularly strong Pokemon, but once it evolves into Pyroar, things really start to look up for your party.
