How to Get Applin in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Applin is a Pokemon that’s almost always found hanging on trees. After all, apples do grow on trees, right? Therefore, you have to dash into trees using your version’s legendary Pokemon by pressing in the left control stick on your Joycon or pro controller. If you don’t have the dash ability yet, then you’ll have to first defeat the Stony Cliff Titan.
After dashing into a tree, look around it to see if you were lucky enough to knock down an Applin, and if you were good luck catching it. Although Applin can pretty much spawn in any grassy area with trees, we’ve had the most luck finding them in East Province’s Area One.

Evolving Applin to either Flapple, Appletun, or Dipplin is fairly simple, and all it requires you to do is for you to have beaten the third Gym leader. This will allow you to purchase the Tart Apple and Sweet Apple. The final item is the Syrupy Apple which is part of the DLC.
There are no level or other special requirements to evolving Applin, as all you have to do is use one of the two evolutionary items on your little apple Pokemon. One thing to keep in mind is that as soon as you use one of the items, it’ll be consumed and you’ll have to buy another one to use on a different Applin.
Where to Get Tart Apple and Sweet Apple
As soon as you beat the third gym, simply go to your nearest Delibird Presents (Mesagoza, Cascarrafa, or Levincia) and purchase the apple you want based on what you want your Applin to evolve into.

How to get the Syrupy Apple
The Syrupy Apple isn’t purchased in the Paldea Region like the other items. Instead, you need to travel to the Kitakami region. Once there, head to the area called the Mossfell Confluence to the west of Mossui Town.
Here, you can find a vending machine selling Syrupy Apples for 500 Poke Dollars. Giving this item to the grass and dragon-type Pokémon will evolve Applin into Dipplin.
