It should come to the surprise of no one that Giannis Antetokounmpo is number one on the list for NBA 2K24 with a 96 overall. Though NBA 2K24 did confirm Nikola Jokić as the best player in the new game, Antetokounmpo could potentially manage to snag the number one spot over the course of the regular season because he’s just that gifted.
Kevin Durant was the second best power forward in NBA 2K23. But this year, Durant is tied in first for the position in NBA 2K24 with the exact same 96 overall rating. Though his tenure with the Brooklyn Nets didn’t fair as well as it could have, Durant proved last season just how great he still is, which he displayed firsthand on the Suns upon being traded there as well.
Without further ado, here’s a look at some of the best power forwards in NBA 2K24 and why they cracked the Top 10 rankings this year.
Giannis Antetokounmpo – 96 overall
For those wondering why the Greek Freak is back at the number one spot, think again. Not only did Antetokounmpo average a career high 31.1 points per game, but he also averaged double digit rebounds for the sixth straight season (11.8) and was named an All Star for a seventh straight year as well. The man can simply do it all, and had he not injured his back during the first round of the playoffs, the Bucks could have easily made their way to the Eastern Conference Finals with their star man. Although Antetokounmpo was a 97 in NBA 2K23, this year NBA 2K24 chose to make him a 96 overall.
Kevin Durant – 96 overall
Despite turning 35 later this year, Kevin Durant has simply been unfazed by time over the last two seasons. Granted, Durant was dealing with nagging injuries for a good portion of games in each of those two seasons. But even so, it’s been still so impressive to see man recover and not miss a beat upon returning to the NBA court. After dropping 29.9 points per game over the 2021-22 season in 55 games played, Durant dropped 29.1 in a combined 47 games played for both the Nets and the Suns. The man is simply a legend of the sport and deserves to be the second best power forward with his confirmed 96 overall rating in NBA 2K24.
Zion Williamson – 90 overall
Williamson looked excellent in the 29 games he played last season, scoring 26 points per game while averaging 7.0 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.1 steals. But the issue with Zion over these last couple of seasons as been injuries, and because he missed so much time over the 2022-23 campaign, it’s a surprise to see NBA 2K making him any higher than the rating he had in NBA 2K23, which was an 87 overall. Williamson is hands down still one of the best and most dominant power forwards in the NBA, reflected by his new 90 overall.
Julius Randle – 85 overall
The arrival of Jalen Brunson was big for Julius Randle, creating space for the power forward to score a career high average of 25.1 points per game while coming away with 10.0 rebounds and 4.1 assists. Keep in mind that only was Randle an All Star last season, but he also was a major reason why the Knicks managed to get to the playoffs and push past the first round. In NBA 2K23, Randle was an 82 at launch, so his three point jump is a big one. But seeing how well he played, it’s only fair that Randle receives an 85 overall.
