Is NBA 2K24 Crossplay?

NBA 2K24 crossplay will be available this year. As pre-orders for the game went live, 2K Sports has also confirmed the arrival of the new feature for this year’s game. The news comes off the back of a leaked crossplay trailer that surfaced just before pre-orders opened.

The NBA 2K24 release date is still some way off, but excitement for the new game has already begun. 2K Sports has already revealed the cover athlete for the upcoming game, with the legendary Kobe Bryant fronting two editions of NBA 2K24.

There has been plenty of talk regarding NBA 2K24 crossplay ahead of the new game. No game in the NBA 2K series has featured crossplay before, so this is a big step forward for the game now it has been confirmed.

Crossplay is already widely available in other sports titles. The feature will allow players using different platforms to play and compete with each other. However, not all players will have access to crossplay in NBA 2K24.

As seen in the trailer, crossplay will exclusively be available in new-gen only. This means players on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will have access crossplay in NBA 2K24. Unfortunately for players still using PS4 or Xbox One, you won’t be able to play with friends on other platforms.

Pre-orders for NBA 2K24 went live on July 7, and a crossplay reveal trailer was released at the same time. Crossplay will only be available for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players, but there is some good news too.

NBA 2K24 crossplay will be available across all game modes. The announcement came with the words “no restrictions”, although I’m sure PS4 and Xbox One users won’t feel that statement is entirely accurate.
