Winter Soldier was one of the last characters announced before Marvel Rivals was released, and we’re here to explain how best to use him. Captain America’s ol’ pal has been a great inclusion, ranking high in our tier list. When used correctly, he is one of the best Duelists the game has to offer. If you partner with Rocket Raccoon when building your team, you will activate Winter Soldier’s team-up ability, where Rocket can pop down a gadget to give you unlimited ammo and let you rip.
This medium to short-range warrior has an eclectic kit that will see you rushing in and dealing damage with his pistol. He has a few different abilities but certainly has a simpler loadout than someone like Cloak and Dagger. But, to get the best out of the Winter Soldier you’re going to want to take advantage of his Ultimate Ability. We’ll explained his abilities below, as well as how best to use him to undoubtedly earn many MVP awards.

When just using Winter Soldier’s standard attack, you’ll deal decent damage, but when you combine it with his abilities to create combos, you’ll gain an edge and begin chaining kills. All of his abilities are listed in the table below:

| Roterstern | Fire explosive rounds with his blaster, hitting your target and the enemies behind him |
| Trooper’s Fist | Dash forwards, grabbing the enemy on your path and then launch them up using an uppercut |
| Tainted Voltage | Launch a punch with your arm that sends out a charge that slows enemies and grounds flying characters |
| Bionic Hook | Charge and launch the bionic arm, hooking your opponent and dragging them towards you |
| Ceaseless Charge | Reload automatically when using the bionic arm, also granting you bonus health in the process |
| Kraken Impact | Leap high into the air, then dash towards targets on the ground and mark them. Any marked enemy will be eliminated once their health falls to a certain point and resets the move to be used again |

If you’re running around trying to use Winter Soldier as a straight shooter, you won’t find much success as he only had three bullets in his gun before needing to reload. But, when you combine this with your arm abilities, your weapon will recharge.
Combining these will rack up kills, rinsing through enemy attackers, but you will still struggle against Vanguards. Winter Soldier also doesn’t have the best mobility, with no options to move around quicker, so picking a fight you can’t win will quickly go badly as you can’t escape.
Where this character shines, though, is his Kraken Impact Ultimate ability, which can be instantly recharged when used appropriately. When you are in the latter stages of a match, and plenty of characters are low on health, you can easily wipe out a whole team by resetting the Ultimate with each kill. This move makes the Winter Soldier one of the best characters in the game.
