Who has the best Madden 24 CB Ratings this year? Playing the cornerback position at an elite level in the NFL is challenging. Wide receivers have only become bigger, stronger, quicker, and more athletic over the last five plus years in the league, and as a result, CBs have had to adjust and become even better with their dexterity and skill sets.
The Madden 24 release date is nearly here, and as such, EA Sports revealed the official player ratings in July. That’s right! Madden 24 has revealed its new player ratings and we can now confirm which CBs will be best in this year’s game.

The cornerback position is one of the most important in American football. Yet it’s also one of the most challenging to play because it demands so much from a player. And though Madden typically has a good list of corners to play with, there’s only a select few that will crack the 90+ overall threshold. Last year in Madden 23, there was nine 90+ overall rated cornerbacks. And, lo and behold, Madden 24 has also nine 90+ overall rated CBs this year as well.
The best corner in Madden 23 was none other than Jalen Ramsey. And despite finding a new home in Miami, Ramsey is back as the best CB once again in Madden 24. New York Jets Defensive Rookie of the Year Winner Sauce Gardner proved to everyone how elite he can be, and did earn his way into the 90+ club this year. The Eagles and Dolphins happen to be home to the two best cornerback tandems in the NFL, making them both two of the best defenses to use.
Jalen Ramsey – 97 overall
Last season, Ramsey proved once again how gifted of a corner he continues to be. In all 17 games he started in his final season for the Rams, Ramsey had himself 88 combined tackles (64 solo), 18 passes defended, four interceptions, and two sacks. Even with the Dolphins and having to learn a completely different defensive system, Ramsey remains to be the best and most versatile cornerback in the NFL, and Madden 24 granted him that honor once more by making him a 97 overall.
Pat Surtain II – 94 overall
If there’s any young cornerback talent that’s really worth following and watching right now (outside of Sauce Gardner of course), is that of Pat Surtain II. In his 2021 rookie season, Surtain already came out hot with impressive corner play. In 16 games played, Surtain had himself 58 combined tackles (45 solo), 14 passes defended, and four interceptions. The next season in 2022, Surtain would follow up his breakout season with yet another strong showing, finishing with 60 combined tackles (46 solo), 10 passes defended, and two interceptions. This led him to be selected First Team All-Pro, cementing his spot as one of the premier corners in the league. Even though Surtain didn’t have the best sophomore season, his 94 overall rating was well-earned.
Darius Slay Jr. – 92 overall
The Philadelphia Eagles have one of the best defenses in the NFL, and a key reason why is due to their lockdown tandem cornerback partnership between Darius Slay and James Bradberry. This really came to life last season for both CB stars, with Slay making his fifth Pro Bowl appearance in six years following an impressive performance en route to a Super Bowl visit. In 17 games played over the 2022 campaign, Slay had 55 combined tackles (40 solo), 14 passes defended, and three interceptions. Consistency is key to greatness, and Slay has continuously shown why he deserves to be in the best CB conversation. His 92 overall rating is a fair one from Madden 24.
Stephon Gilmore – 91 overall
Over the last five NFL seasons, cornerback Stephon Gilmore has really solidified himself as one of the best CBs in the league. Following a 2019 peak season which saw him win the Defensive Player of the Year Award, Gilmore followed that up with back-to-back Pro Bowl appearances, despite playing for two different teams. Though Gilmore was not a Pro Bowler last year, he still highlighted how gifted he is for the Colts in his sole season he played for them before departing for the Cowboys over free agency this year. In 16 games played over the 2022 campaign, Gilmore had a career high 66 combined tackles (53 solo), 11 passes defended, and two interceptions.
Tre’Davious White – 90 overall
The Buffalo Bills have risen into one of the NFL’s powerhouse teams over the last four years, and their defense has played a big role into their success. Although the Bills defense is strong from top to bottom, it’s their defensive secondary that remains to be one of the best in the NFL, and their cornerback Tre’Davious White just so happens to be one of its brightest stars. After sustaining an ACL tear in 2021, missing the majority of the season as a result, White did not play in the first seven games of the 2022 regular season as well. And as you can imagine, his statistical production was limited. But keep in mind that White is a First Team All-Pro corner and two-time Pro Bowler after all, and his 90 overall rating is certainly a fair one.
While cornerbacks may be the cornerstone of your defense, improving your offense is way more fun. Quarterbacks are the key to any great offense, and cover star Josh Allen is among the best Madden 24 QBs around. Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow may boast higher ratings, but Allen will still be one of the game’s superstars. 99 Club member Justin Jefferson and running back Tyreek Hill will also be major assets in any offense.
