Diablo 4 gem sockets explained

To socket a gem in Diablo 4, all you need to do is drag the gem over to a weapon with a gem slot by right-clicking on the gem then holding the click then letting go when you’re hovering over the weapon. Not every piece of gear can accommodate gems, though, and the option tends to be reserved for higher-tier and rarity weapons. You’ll know they can when the weapon shows a slot (sometimes multiple slots) when viewed in your inventory.
