Weapons are a vital part of any Space Marine’s kit and to soup them up with Perks you’ll need Mastery Points. These points are an upgrade currency that’s unlocked by playing, or more exactly, grinding Operations missions. As you use weapons in the PvE mode, you’ll level them up unlocking not just better base stats but also these precious points. You can also fast-track the process by using Armory Data, skipping the need to grind weapon XP. We’ll walk you through how to get use Mastery Points in Space Marine 2.
How to get Mastery Tokens in Space Marine 2
There are two ways to get Mastery Points in Space Marine 2:
- Weapon and variant leveling
- Armory Data
Weapon leveling
Completing Operations missions with a weapon earns you weapon XP. If you head to Armouring Hall then select a weapon, you’ll see four tiers at the bottom of the screen, each with its own XP progress bar. When you reach the XP threshold of your current tier, you’ll naturally progress to the next, leveling up the weapon in the process. Whenever you fill up one of the progress bars, you’ll unlock a Mastery Point. Here are the four tiers and XP required:
Weapon tier | XP |
---|---|
Standard | 0 – 1500 |
Master-Crafted | 1500 – 7500 |
Artificer | 7500 – 17000 |
Relic | 17000 – 28600 |
To boost weapon XP earnings during Operations missions, make sure to track down Gene Seeds.
Alongside base weapon XP, you can also earn XP for different variants. You’ll need to use these specific variants in Operations missions to earn XP for each one. Fill up the XP bar for a variant and you’ll unlock yet another Mastery Point. In other words, maxing out the XP for both variants and tiers rewards Mastery Points.
Armory Data
You can also use Armory Data to level up weapons and unlock a Mastery Point without having to earn XP. It essentially fills up a weapon’s XP bar instantly. Armory Data are collectible items found during Operations missions by interacting with floating Servo Skulls, however you’ll need to successfully complete a mission to take them back to the Battle Barge with you. To use Armory Data, enter the Armouring Hall menu, select a weapon, then navigate to the variant you want to max out and hold down the Master prompt (left-click on PC, for example).
How to use Mastery Points in Space Marine 2
Mastery Points are used to unlock weapon perks in the Perk Tree. Perks offer a range of passive and active perks to further boost the stats of your weapons, covering everything from damage and magazine size to reload speed and armor restoration. Each perk costs a Mastery Point.
To unlock perks, head to the Armoury Hall, select a weapon, then tap the Perk Tree button just above the tier section at the bottom of the screen. Hover over a perk then hold down the corresponding Set Active button prompt (left-click on PC, for example) to unlock the Perk. Perks are tied to the same tier system as the weapon, so you’ll need to earn enough overall weapon XP to progress through the tiers to unlock the best perks.
You can reset perks at any time and refund all used Mastery Points. Enter the Perk Tree and hold down the Reset Perks button prompt at the bottom of the screen (R on PC, for example) to reset all perks. You can then spend your refunded Mastery Points to unlock a different range of perks on the same or even a different weapon.
