The best weapons in Space Marine 2 are capable of handling anything the gritty 40k universe can throw at you whether that’s the squirming swarms or hulking Terminus-class bosses. However, the waters are muddied by the fact that not all classes excel with every weapon and there’s a limit on what weapons each class can take into battle.
Finding the right combination of class and weapons to fine-tune effective builds that work for your playstyle is tricky. To help you settle on the right weapons for your next Operations excursion, here are the best weapons for each class in Space Marine 2.
Sniper
Tier | Weapon |
---|---|
S | Las Fusil |
A | Stalker Bolt Rifle |
B | Bolt Carbine |
The Las Fusil is an incredibly strong sniper rifle. You will find this weapon deep into the campaign or as part of the Sniper class’ loadout. The weapon requires a charge-up before unleashing an attack but is exceptionally lethal and can penetrate multiple lined-up enemies. If you aim for a headshot or weak spot, the Las Fusil choose through everything from basic swarm enemies all the way to elites with stacked health pools.
It’s a very effective weapon for taking out key targets in the Campaign or in Operations, too. It can one-shot most Rubric Marine, letting you follow up with an execute on most difficulty settings, and can even melt through Terminators and other mini-bosses. If you’re looking for an effective elite killing weapon, the Las Fusil is your weapon of choice.
The Las Fusil is harder to use in PvP due the difficulty of tracking unpredictable player movement. Instead, consider using the Bolt Sniper or Precision Bolter.
Tactical
Tier | Weapon |
---|---|
S | Heavy Bolt Rifle, Plasma Incinerator |
A | Melta Rifle |
B | Auto Bolt Rifle, Bolt Rifle |
There are a lot of different specialised bolt rifles in Space Marine 2, but the Heavy Bolt Rifle stands out from the pack. It strikes a balance: it can can down hordes at range but also tear through elites and ranged enemies when needed. That balance is key and is a defining characteristic of the Tactical class because other classes tend to excel at killing hordes or dealing with elites, never both.
Heavy
Tier | Weapon |
---|---|
S | Heavy Bolter |
A | Plasma Pistol, Heavy Plasma Incinerator |
B | Multi-Melta |
Whether it’s in in Operations or Eternal War, you’re bound to have fun with the Heavy Bolter. The weapon delivers reliable swarm control and can pick off elites, too. Throw in the Heavy class’ barrier ability and the Heavy Bolter turns the Heavy into a veritable turret, safe from attacks and effective at controlling enemies and absorbing pressure from players in PvP. Regardless of the situation, the Heavy Bolter is all about control.
Vanguard
Tier | Weapon |
---|---|
S | Melta Rifle |
A | Instigator Bolt Carbine |
B | Occulus Bolt Carbine |
The Melta Rifle is a top pick for players that favour a close-range playstyle as the Vanguard class. It’s one for those that like to be deep in the thick of the fight. Hook shot into encounters and towards key threats, then unleash the Melta Rifle for serious close-range damage thank to its hire fire rate and close-range burning AoE effect. It melts through swarms of enemies and dish out bursts of lethal damage to players in PvP or against elites in Operations, no matter the difficulty. Additionally, the Vanguard’s hook is a perfect way to mitigate the Melta Rifle’s poor ranged stats.
Assault
Tier | Weapon |
---|---|
S | Thunder Hammer |
A | Chainsword, Heavy Bolt Pistol |
B | Power Fist |
Though the Assault class pairs well with any melee weapon, it really comes into its own with the Thunder Hammer. The weapon synergises with the class’ airborne and close-range capabilities, dishing out heavy hits for stacking single-target burst damage and basic attacks for swarm-carving AoE damage. It fits the Assault playstyle perfectly: land on key threats or jump into the thick of a swarm and pound your way through all types of enemies.
Bulwark
Tier | Weapon |
---|---|
S | Power Sword |
A | Chainsword, Plasma Pistol |
B | Power Fist |
Put any melee weapon in the hands of a Bulwark and it will find a way to be effective. But, for the best results, nothing quite stacks up to the Power Sword. It’s the perfect pairing for the Bulkwark’s shield, allowing you to alternate between charged cleaving attacks to deal with swarms and non-charged attacks for duelling elites. Throw in your shield, and you’re able to easily adjust and adapt to any melee scenario you find yourself in.
