In Hogwarts Legacy, the Room With a View trophy tasks you with reaching the highest point in the castle. But, other than a vague mention of the Headmaster’s upper study, there’s not much for players to go on.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the location of the highest point in the castle and, more importantly, the easiest way to reach the upper study and tick off the Room With a View achievement in Hogwarts Legacy.

Where Is the Highest Point in the Castle in Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy - How to Reach the Highest Point in the Castle

The highest point in the castle is located in The Grand Staircase area of Hogwarts. If you bring up the Hogwarts map, it’s the castle’s tallest and easternmost tower. More specifically, the highest point is at the top of three smaller towers that jut out to the east. If you were to fly up, you’d spot a small balcony there.

How to Reach the Highest Point in the Castle in Hogwarts Legacy

There are two ways to reach the highest point in the castle in Hogwarts Legacy, but both require the Alohomora spell. If you’ve yet to learn the spell, push through the story until The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament quest is available.

The quest has you scouring Hogwarts and the Highlands beyond in search of Demiguise moons at the groundskeeper, Gladwin Moon’s, request. The quest unlocks Alohomora Level 1, but to reach the highest point in the castle, you’ll need Level 3.

To unlock Alohomora Level 2 and then Level 3, find and return 9 and then 15 Demiguise statues, respectively, to Gladwin. If you need a hand tracking down all the moons, check out our guide to their locations in Hogsmeade, Hogwarts, and The Highlands.

Method 1 – How to Reach the Highest Point in the Castle By Broom

This is by far the simplest method, and it can be done once you’ve unlocked flying.

Grab your broom, fly up to the tower, and land on the highest balcony you can reach. It’s near the flying height limit and hard to miss. Once you’ve landed, use Alohomora on the door and solve the lockpicking mini-game. Head up the stairs to reach the highest point in the castle in Hogwarts Legacy.

Method 2 – How to Reach the Highest Point in the Castle on Foot

You can only access the Upper Study after completing The Polyjuice Plot main story quest.

Fast travel to the Trophy Room Floo Flame in The Grand Staircase area of Hogwarts. If you’ve yet to unlock the fast travel point, head to the area and make your way to the top of the shifting staircase and then use Alohomora on the locked metal gate to reach the Trophy Room.

From here, stick to the outer edge of the Trophy Room and follow it round, heading clockwise, until you find another locked gate with stairs heading up. Use Alohomora III on the gate and take the stairs up.

Continue through a wood-paneled corridor, then up another two flights of stairs. Once you reach a room adorned with dragon statues, take a left and head up the stone steps. Use Alohomora to open the door on your left, follow the outside stairway, and use the spell on the door at the top. Climb the last flight of stairs to reach the highest point in the castle in Hogwarts Legacy.
