The true end-game grind is finding Rainbow Slime in Granblue Fantasy: Relink. These rare monsters are also called Prismatic Slime.
This ultra-rare monster is notoriously difficult to find, but if you manage to beat one you will be blessed with a veritable bounty of rewards. Finding a Rainbow Slime is purely down to RNG, but it has a chance to appear wherever there are Slime enemies.

What are Prismatic Slimes in Granblue Fantasy Relink
The Prismatic Slime, also called the Rainbow Slime, is an enemy that can spawn around Slime enemies and will reward you with a ridiculous amount of goodies if you manage to kill it.
The Rainbow Slime is vastly different to the other slime enemies and much tougher to beat. When you spot a Slime, you can see it peek out of the jar it hides in. During this animation, if you see the Slime is rainbow coloured, you have found yourself the elusive Prismatic Slime.
When you hit it, it will be the same size as a regular Slime, but it will be all shiny and beautiful. Naturally, as every JRPG Slime wants to do, it will then try to run away from you and flee for good. Make sure you don’t let it slip away.
Granblue Fantasy Relink Prismatic Slime farming method
The best method we’ve found for a successful Prismatic Slime farm is to spam the quest Slimepede. This quest unlocks at Maniac difficulty and it will be your go-to farming quest for almost everything you need to gear up for the end-game.
This mission possibly has a one percent chance for a Prismatic Slime to appear, so it will come down to how the RNG treats you. When you’re in Slimepede, the Prismatic Slime will appear on the raised platform on the other side of the arena from where you start. To further differentiate these, look for a platform that has a closed door instead of an open one.
If you get lucky and the Prismatic Slime spawns, there will be a voice line spoken by Vryn. He will say “It’s the legendary Rainbow Slime! If we beat that sucker, we’ll be swimming in treasure”. When you hear this message, head to the raised platform we mentioned to find the Prismatic Slime. Kill the Slime as soon as possible so it doesn’t get away. If you want to make sure you beat it when it appears, try and save your SBA attack to beat it in one hit.
Best teams for farming Prismatic Slime
We highly recommend using Rackam, Id, Eugen, and Narmaya. You should control either Rackam or Eugen for Slime farming. The last person in the team can be whoever you want, but Narmaya is useful in this quest. As Rackam, you can shoot every Slime with ease and it will get your team to start attacking the ones you activate. Rackam has excellent range and fits well with Eugen and Id for AoE attacks.
It is important to note that the spawn rate is entirely random and doesn’t seem to be influenced by how many Slime kills you get. We’ve gotten over 150 while playing online and no Prismatic Slime spawned. Pair this information with when we had one spawn at 70 kills. More than anything, it appears Prismatic Slimes spawn when you’re low on time.
Rainbow Slime drops and rewards
Among other items, Ambrosia is a great resource if you want more MSP. If you are lucky enough to kill a Prismatic Slime, you will get several fantastic rewards, including a guaranteed Ambrosia drop. The Rainbow Slime rewards are as follows:
- Ambrosia
- 10,000 Mastery Points
- Roughly over a billion EXP.
- 100 to 500 Knickknack Vouchers
- 30 to 50 Fortitude Crystals (L)
- Azurite’s Splendor x1-4
- Damascus Ingot x1-5
The rewards for killing a Rainbow Slime will be different depending on the level of the one you beat. If it’s a lower-level Slime, then you will still get most of these rewards, but you will get fewer. When you kill a Prismatic Slime during the Slimepede Quest, you will always get more rewards from it.
Even if you spend hours and hours not getting any Rainbow Slimes spawning, you will have been grinding a ton of money and MSP during this quest, as well as Curios and other extremely useful items. To this end, it is arguably better to focus only on this instead of trying to grind boss mats, but that is up to you.
