The Greek mythology event that was added to Fortnite with Chapter 5 has been a hit with players, and a big part of that has been the quests tied to each of the four Gods in the game. Each of them delivers a huge amount of XP, and is a great way to level up if you’re willing to put the time in.

So if you’re looking to take on the Cerberus Snapshot quests, we’ve put together this guide to take you through all nine quests step-by-step so you can get it done as fast as possible and bag yourself that huge XP drop.

Every Cerberus Snapshot quest in Fortnite

In total, there are ten different quests you’ll need to take to complete the full Snapshot, each of which rewards you with 10,000 XP, not including the extra 90,000 XP you gain from completing them all. Here are all of the Cerberus Snapshot quests in order:

  1. Use a Scrying Pool to speak with Cerberus
  2. Eliminate anything to see if they took the Artifact
  3. Did I leave it at the Windmill with the view of the Styx?
  4. Maybe on a grassy island in the center of everything
  5. I left it near the snow, where people bury yummy bones too.
  6. Use a Scrying Pool to speak with Hades
  7. Defeat Cerberus to gain his tracking abilities
  8. Follow the scent of and collect the Artifact
  9. Return the Artifact to Cerberus’ Dog House
  10. Use a Scrying Pool to speak with the Oracle

Most of these quests can be done quickly, but a few of them are a bit more like riddles and will take some figuring out. That’s why we’re taking you through every quest so you don’t have to worry about it.

Use a Scrying Pool to speak with Cerberus

This one is easy. To get started, all you need to do is head to one of the four Scrying Pools around the map. These are located near where each God is located, and we chose the one to the west of The Underworld as it’s usually fairly quiet.

Eliminate anything to see if they took the Artifact

For this section, you simply need to kill 20 different enemies to see if they’re carrying the Artifact. This can be players, but also includes NPCs and animals. The easiest way to do this is to kill chickens in places like Fencing Fields or frogs found around the edges of lakes.

Did I leave it at the Windmill with the view of the Styx?

Next, you need to start checking where Cerberus has previously buried the Artifact. The first place to check is the Other Windmill, located just to the northwest of Grim Gate. Look for a small glowing spot near the windmill itself and interact with it to find a Dog Toy.

Maybe on a grassy island in the center of everything

This one is fairly easy to find. Head to the lake in the centre of the map and swim over to the smaller, eastern island. Here you’ll find another shining spot where you can dig and find a second Dog Toy – one more to go. Be sure to check out the nearby Elemental Shrine while you’re here too.

I left it near the snow, where people bury yummy bones too

This clue points you towards a graveyard, and more specifically, to the Cemetery Landmark located in between Reckless Railways and Classy Courts. Look for the third glowing spot and dig up the final Dog Toy.

Use a Scrying Pool to speak with Hades

Once again, head to any of the four Scrying Pools around the map, this time to talk with Cerberus’ owner, Hades. He will tell you that he needs you to tire Cerberus out a bit by ‘playing with him’.

Defeat Cerberus to gain his tracking abilities

Unsurprisingly, playing with Cerberus entails fighting him. Head to Grim Gate and interact with the statue of him to summon him. Defeat him and his wolves to gain his scent. You don’t seem to need to get the final blow, so you can wait for someone else to start fighting him and deal a bit of damage to get credit for killing him. Once he’s defeated, it’s time to put that scent to good use. Be sure to use some strong weapons if you’re fighting him alone and pick up the Aspect of the Gods he drops too.

Be aware that once you’ve killed Cerberus for this quest, you won’t need to do it again even if you die. You’ll keep his tracking abilities until you complete the following quest, so don’t worry.

Follow the scent and collect the Artifact

Make your way over to Pleasant Plaza and follow the marker on your map to the top of some stairs. Follow the trail of nine yellow marks to find the Artifact hidden in a room – it’s a tennis ball. Pick up the Artifact and proceed to the next quest.

Return the Artifact to Cerberus’ Dog House

With the Artifact in hand, you can return to Grim Gate and over to Cerberus’ Dog House which will be marked on your map. Interact with the little table outside to return the Artifact and you can finally move on to the final part of the quest.

Use a Scrying Pool to speak with the Oracle

One last jaunt back to the Scrying Pools. Interact with it and talk to the Oracle to complete the final quest, rewarding you a hefty 90,000 XP – not too shabby, eh?

That’s the entire Cerberus Snapshot completed. If you thought you were done there, remember that there are other Snapshots to complete for the other three Gods, so there’s plenty of XP left for you to earn – better get cracking!
