Lighting campfires

  • There are a total of eight campfires across the current Fortnite map
  • You only need to light one to complete the quest
  • Several campfires can be found near shrines where you can find scrolls

While they’re always around, you might not get much use out of campfires in Fortnite in your games. They can be a great way of quickly healing in a pinch if you’ve got the wood, but it can often be faster to just find some bandages in a nearby chest, making campfires a bit of a forgotten mechanic for many players.

But with the Fire Chakra quests in Fortnite becoming available as part of the Avatar crossover, one particular quest requires you to head across the map and light some of these campfires. So if you’re looking to get it done and dusted quickly, we’ve got every campfire location for you to scope out.

All campfire locations in Fortnite

In total, there are currently 26 different campfires distributed unevenly across the entire map. The majority of these are in the northern part of the map, especially near Rebel’s Roost and Classy Courts, which makes sense since these are wooded and snowy regions.

You can check out the graphic above for a more detailed view of exactly where each of these campfires is located. Once you light just a single campfire, you’ll complete the quest and receive 350 Chi.

If you’re only looking to get the quest done, there are a few good choices on which campfire to light. The campfires north of Lavish Lair and southwest of Pleasant Piazza are both fairly remote, and so are good choices if you don’t want to be competing with other players. Pleasant Piazza is also near to Coastal Columns, visiting which is required for an Earth Chakra quest.

We would also recommend both Pleasant Piazza and the lake east of Restored Reels as these will both have a shrine nearby. This is especially true in the case of the lake campfire, though this may make it a little more competitive in terms of players landing here.

Of course, you could just land somewhere nearby to get some weapons first before heading to one of these campfires. If you want to do this, your best bet is probably Rebel’s Roost as once you’ve got your weapons sorted, there are three campfires relatively nearby, as well as a cabbage cart to complete that Water Chakra quest too.

How to light a campfire in Fortnite

If a campfire hasn’t been used yet, you don’t need anything to light it the first time. Simply walk right up to the campfire and interact with it, lighting the campfire and completing the quest if you still have it to do, and healing any players near it.

Once the fire is going, you’ll need to periodically stoke it, which requires 30 Wood. If you let the fire go out, then you’ll need 200 Wood to reignite it, so it’s worth keeping it going if you want to stay there healing.

If you’re playing with a group of people, then you’ll all need to bunch up close to the fire to get the benefit of the healing that campfires provide. If you aren’t playing in Zero Build, then it might be worth putting up some walls to protect yourselves, though this might show other players where you are.
