The new Avatar crossover has brought a huge amount of content to Fortnite, with new skins, emotes, and more. And with that comes a set of new weapons and locations to get them, with bending scrolls and elemental shrines.

If you’re wanting to try out some of these bending scrolls from the show and are on the lookout for the elemental shrines they spawn at, we’ve made this quick guide detailing the location of every shrine so you can land there and get your hands on a quick scroll.

What are elemental shrines in Fortnite?

Elemental shrines are small wooden buildings found in certain locations across the Fortnite map. In each of these shrines, you’ll be able to get two scrolls that correspond to the type of element of that specific shrine, so if you go to a fire shrine, you’ll get two firebending scrolls.

Be aware that only one instance of these scrolls is available in each shrine. If someone gets to a shrine first and takes both of the available scrolls, then if you come around later, the scrolls won’t respawn and you’ll need to find a different way of getting them.

Elemental shrine locations

There are a total of eight elemental shrines in Fortnite, with two shrines for each of the four elements: water, fire, earth and air. Aside from one shrine in the centre of the map, these shrines are all located fairly close to the edges of the map, so you should try and get to them early on, before the storm closes in.

Here are the locations of all of the elemental shrines in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2:

Water shrine locations

The two water shrines can be found:

  • On a hill by the coast in the southeast of the snowy area of the island
  • On the northern coast of the island, to the west of Classy Courts

Fire shrine locations

The two fire shrines can be found:

  • On the southern coast of the island, just southeast of Snooty Steppes
  • On the coast in the northwest of the map, just north of Rebel’s Roost

Earth shrine locations

The two earth shrines can be found:

  • On top of a hill between Coastal Columns and Pleasant Piazza
  • On the larger island in the lake in the centre of the map

Air shrine locations

The two air shrines can be found:

  • On a mountain to the north of Grand Glacier
  • In the southeast of the map, just east of Brawler’s Battleground

Avatar NPC locations

For each element, there is one shrine that has an NPC waiting for you that you can interact with. Here is a list of all of the available NPCs and where you can find them:

  • Katara: At the water shrine in the southeast of the snowy area. Sells Flowberry Fizz and Patch Up services
  • Zuko: At the fire shrine north of Rebel’s Roost. Sells Shield Breaker EMPs and Chug Splashes
  • Toph: At the earth shrine west of Pleasant Piazza. Sells Shield Bubble Jars and Chug Splashes
  • Aang: At the air shrine north of Grand Glacier. Sells Shockwave Grenades and Flowberries

As well as being powerful weapons in their own right, using the bending scrolls that you get from these shrines is a must to complete some of the quests required to open the Chakras you need to unlock the Appa glider, so it’s worth giving them a try.
