It can be hard to find a good RB in Football Manager. Usually, while they’re solid defensively, there are very few that can offer the great pace and passing that underpins a truly world class RB. In the modern game, defending just doesn’t cut it, and you need to pump balls into the box, helping out as much in the opposition third as in your own.
That’s why we’ve gone through the game and picked out the very best young RBs in FM24. Many of these players are ready to slot into any team in the world, and all of them are all but guaranteed to turn into world beaters later on in your save.
FM24 Best RB to sign
We’ve put all our years of managerial experience to the test to bring you the best young players to sign at right-back in FM24.
As usual, acceleration, pace, agility, and work rate will be great attributes for you full-backs to have, getting up and down the flanks with ease.
However, top ability on the ball is becoming more relevant, with full-backs often told to shift into the midfield instead of staying wide and whipping balls into the box.
Defensive stats are also still key, so make sure to check tackling, anticipation, and mental attributes. Below we have compiled a list of young talents with high potential ability (PA).

FM 24 Top Young Right Backs
It’s not all about the stars that shine brightest, with some of the talents listed below certain to make an impact in your save.
They may not all be household names, but these talents have more than enough in the tank to become important players in the future.
Rico Lewis (Manchester City)
We’re not sure if we can even call Man City star Rico Lewis a right-back anymore, but we will do for the sake of this list.
With Pep Guardiola turning this young man into one of the best talents in the world, you could be certain that he would once again be a star in Football Manager 2024.
Generational Talent
We’re backing Rico Lewis as the best RB to sign in FM24. His ability on the ball is incredible. With the capability to play in multiple roles, he can be an invaluable member of your squad.
Lewis was given a huge boost in the FM23 winter update and that momentum carries into this year’s game, with the English youngster possessing a range of stats that would entice any manager.
He’s likely going to be totally unattainable due to his standing in the game, but we think you should be doing everything you can to try this man out in FM24.
Malo Gusto (Chelsea)
One of the many hundred players that Chelsea have recruited over the last 18 months, Malo Gusto is a star in the making.
A star of the French youth system, Gusto cut his teeth in Lyon and is now hoping to make a big impact in the Premier League.
His price tag will be high and you won’t be able to sign him during the first season, but it’s well worth seeing how this man develops over the course of your save.
Goncalo Esteves (Sporting CP)
Goncalo Esteves is a name that may not be familiar to everyone, but this talented Portuguese full-back has plenty to offer.
Currently plying his trade for Sporting, Esteves is constantly developing and will once again be a threat in FM24.
In Football Manager 2023, Esteves was one to watch and that is once again the case, with this man’s talents almost certainly matching his impeccable head of hair.
Whilst he isn’t as highly regarded as the names above him on this list, he could be a great investment for sides looking to step to the next level.
Mikkel Hope (Haugesund)
A name we’re not expecting any of you to know, unless you are a die-hard FM23 wonderkid scout, Mikkel Hope is our pick for one to watch in this year’s game.
A product of the blossoming Scandinavian youth production line, Hope is a star in the making and the perfect bargain wonderkid for your side.
Currently playing for Haugesund in Norway, Hope represents a real bargain buy, with the youngster still possessing a healthy potential rating.
Whilst he may not grow to the heights of his compatriot Haaland, this bright young full-back still has plenty to offer your side.
