With there being so few NPCs who can be romanced, many are wondering which ones have subplots that allow you to get a bit more intimate. So what about the empress? Can you romance Nadinia?
No. Nadinia is not a romanceable NPC in Dragon’s Dogma 2. She is one of the many NPCs who has an affinity bar that you can raise. Giving gifts to her is possible and should be done to receive additional rewards.

Unfortunately, you cannot romance Nadinia in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Like normal NPCs like Menella and Glyndwr, you can only raise Nadinia’s affinity. This can lead to you going on special strolls with the NPC and it can also allow you to get special gifts from her whenever you visit your home in Bakbattahl – provided you have purchased the 30,000 gold building. The only official romance options in Dragon’s Dogma 2 are Wilhelmina and Ulrika. Other NPCs don’t have romantic subplots.
How to raise Nadinia’s affinity
It is fairly easy to raise Nadinia’s affinity in Dragon’s Dogma 2. She likes beautiful items and adorable items as seen on her NPC info card. To raise her affinity, give Empress Nadinia bundles of flowers. This will quickly raise her affinity with you and get you multiple gifts. Just be sure to purchase the home in Bakbattahl so that you can receive her presents.
After the Shadowed Prayers main quest, you can often find Nadinia in the Flamebearer Palace in Bakbattahl. She will either be roaming the grounds of the palace or in her chamber in the back. She can also be near the large candle stack near the entrance to the forbidden section. Interacting with her will give you small bits of dialogue but you will never get a full questline involving her character outside of saving her from the assassin earlier in the campaign.
