Reaching the max level in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a tedious process, but once you’re there it’s going to have paid off.

As is the standard in RPGs, levelling up is a core mechanic. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is no different, though it’s unique in its sense of scope. The maximum level is expected to be 999, and you start at level 1, giving you plenty of time to climb the ranks to the top.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 max level explained

The max level in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is expected to be 999. This is the highest rank you can reach on a technical level, and once you’re there, you’re going to be unstoppable. Don’t feel like you have to level up each Vocation in the same way. Thankfully, whenever you change your Vocation you’re going to see all of the specific vocation stats redistributed in line with the vocation’s playstyle.

However, it’s important to note the following: nobody has reached the max level yet, since the game’s only been out for a few days. The expected max level has been found through the Pawn summoning filters in the Riftstone. The maximum level that the game allows you to summon is 999 – at least, in the menu that is. It’s entirely possible that there’s a different level cap in-game that your Arisen and Pawns can reach.

This is a bit more in-line with Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen’s maximum level, which was 200. The scope of the game, though it still shares much of the same DNA, is now entirely different. In the first, you were probably approaching the end of the main questline at level 50 or so, though now you can expect to have weathered many more storms.

We’ve already had a look in-depth on how to level up fast in Dragon’s Dogma 2, though in essence you’re going to need to complete as many quests, and kill as many enemies, as you can muster.

Is there a level cap in Dragon’s Dogma 2 for Vocations?

While your base characters max level is expected to be 999, does the same follow for your vocations? We don’t think so.

Since you level up your base level and Vocation levels independently, with your character having a “level” and your Vocation having a “Rank,” it’s not possible for the max rank for a vocation is going to be 999.

In fact, the maximum rank you can reach for a Vocation is 9 – a way more manageable and realistic level to reach in-game.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you reach the max level in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

Reaching the max level in Dragon’s Dogma 2 involves a lot more grinding than any other aspect of the game. Outside of that, you’re going to need to kill every enemy you encounter, alongside farming in high-level areas and against bosses.
