What is Dragonsplague in Dragon’s Dogma 2? – Dragonsplague symptoms

Dragonsplague is a contagious disease in Dragon’s Dogma 2 that your Main Pawn can contract and spread to other Pawns. True to its name, this disease is caught while fighting a dragon in your world. It can also be caught if your Pawn comes in contact with an infected Pawn after returning to the inn when you rest or if you invite an infected Pawn into your party.

Unlike other diseases in the game or debilitations, there is no cure for Dragonsblight. Another annoying aspect of the disease is that Capcom made it so you can’t tell a Pawn has the disease until after you hire them in the Rift or out in the world as an NPC. Luckily, there are ways that you can tell if a Pawn has been infected. Here are the symptoms of Dragonsplague:

  • Pulsing glowing red eyes (always check a Pawns’ eyes)
  • Headaches (Pawns will clutch their heads in pain)
  • Disobedience (change in behavior)

If your Pawn reaches the terminal stage of Dragonsplague, they will turn into a shadowy dragon when you rest at an inn. This will cause them to nuke the entire town you are currently staying in, killing all of the NPCs. This includes quest-givers and even important NPCs.

Personality changes

Personality changes are the biggest symptom of Dragonsplague. You can tell when your Pawn’s personality changes because they will start to disobey you. For instance, it you tell them to complete a task, they will tell you they will do their own thing or just say no. Keep the disease under control as to not affect additional Pawns.

The community has also been taking the initiative to let other players know when their Pawn may have been infected with Dragonsplague. If you get your Pawn back and they are holding withered or dried flowers, then it means that they may have been infected and you should remedy the situation immediately.

How to cure Dragonsplague in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Start by dismissing any Pawn that you hired that happens to have Dragonsplague. This will hopefully stop the spread. If your Pawn has been infected, you need to let them die. This can be done by letting them fall in battle or by tossing them off a cliff to their death. This method does not work with hired Pawns as they can only be cured in their world.

Throwing your Pawn into deep water or letting them die will result in them going back to the Rift. You can then have them return at a Riftstone completely cured. Alternatively, your Pawn will leave the disease behind if they pass it on to another Pawn in a different world.

How to reverse the effects of the Dragonsplague in Dragon’s Dogma 2

While this isn’t a “cure,” it is possible to reverse the effect that the Dragonsplague has on the city your Pawn destroys. To do this, you need the Eternal Wakestone. There is a lot that you need to do to get this item and it involves completing all of the Sphinx Riddles as well as defeating her in battle. That is a lot of work to get an item but it is worth it if you accidentally let your Pawn destroy an entire city. We recommend getting the item if you can before your pawn goes nuclear.

That is everything you need to know about Dragonsplague in the game. Be sure to also check out how to complete the Caged Magistrate quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2. You can also check out our Dragon’s Dogma 2 tips and tricks to help you survive.
