Wondering how to get the Malignant Rings in Diablo 4? These new rings let you enjoy the Malignant Powers from Season 1 of the game in the Eternal Realm, even after the first season has ended.

Five new rings can give you a specific Malignant Power, one for each class. These were added with Patch 1.2.2. While this is great for those who miss the mechanic from Season 1 and aren’t too keen on the Vampiric Powers in Season 2, how do you get the rings? We’re here to let you know each Malignant Ring, and how to get them.

All Malignant Rings in Diablo 4

As stated above, there are five different Malignant Rings available in Diablo 4, one for each specific class:

RingClassPower
Ring of Red FurorBarbarianAfter spending 100 Fury within three seconds, your next cast of Hammer of the Ancients, Upheaval, or Death Blow is a guaranteed Critical Strike and deals 10 to 30% bonus Critical Strike Damage.
Airidah’s Inexorable WillDruidWhen casting an Ultimate Skill and again five seconds after, Pull in Distant enemies and deal 0.5 to 1.0 Physical damage to them. This damage is increased by 1% per one point of Willpower you have.
Ring of the Sacrilegious SoulNecromancerAutomatically activate the following equipped Skills on Corpses around you: Raise Skeleton every one to two seconds. Corpse Explosion every one to two seconds. Corpse Tendrils every eight to 16 seconds.
Writhing Band of TrickeryRogueCasting a Subterfuge Skill leaves behind a Decoy Trap that continuously Taunts and lures enemies. The Decoy Trap explodes after three seconds dealing 2.0 to 3.0 Shadow damage. Can occur every 12 seconds.
Tal Rasha’s Iridescent LoopSorcererFor each type of Elemental damage you deal, gain 10 to 15% increased damage for four seconds. Dealing Elemental damage refreshes all bonuses.

These rings can give you the power from the Season of the Malignant even though the season is done. They are all able to be found in the Eternal Realm and are a permanent addition to the game. They were recently added in a patch for Season 2 from Blizzard.

How to get Malignant Rings in Diablo 4

There is only one way to get the rings, and that is by defeating the Echo of Varshan endgame boss. You can check out our Echo of Varshan and Malignant Burrow guide for more specifics. This endgame boss is available only in World Tiers Nightmare and Torment. Luckily, the rings can drop on either World Tier.

To reach Varshan, you need to go to the Malignant Burrow, which can be found near the Tree of Whispers.

You’ll need to summon him using these items:

  • Gurgling Head
  • Blackened Femur
  • Trembling Hand
  • Malignant Heart (World Tier 4 only)

These materials can be collected by either opening Whisper Caches or by defeating Grotesque Debtors. Either of these has a chance of dropping the materials needed, however, I’ve found that opening Whisper Caches is normally a safer bet.

Once you’ve summoned the Echo of Varshan and defeated him, he has a chance of dropping any of the five Malignant Rings. There is no way for him to drop a specific ring, you’ll just need to keep beating him until he drops the one you want. It’s also important to know that Varshan won’t drop a Malignant Ring each time. Because these are Unique rings, it will likely take a few tries before you get one.

That’s everything you need to know about the Malignant Rings in Diablo 4 and how to get them. Be sure to check out our Corpse Explosion Necromancer build guide so you have the best build to get the rings with.
