If you’re running a bit low on cash in Diablo 4, you’ll need to pop to the shop to sell some of the loot you’ve picked up while adventuring. If you’re looking to get gold fast and have plenty of loot from dungeons, then you need to capitalise on it by knowing how to sell all those items. We’ll explain how the process works and add some tips on when to sell, and when to salvage.

How does selling items work in Diablo 4?

To sell items in Diablo 4, you need to visit a vendor in any settlement, and right-click items in your inventory to sell them. Head to any settlement, including hubs, where there are some vendors, such as armour and weapon shops. This could be a major city like Kyovashad or the smaller towns and camps you find across Sanctuary. Talk to them to open up the shop menu, where you’ll see their stock on the left and your own inventory on the right. From here, right-click the item you want to sell to sell it. Selling items can be a great way to make money in a rush, especially if you’ve got a full inventory. If you aren’t short on cash and can spare some items, you should learn how to salvage gear in Diablo 4, too.

✓ When to sell and when to salvage?

The selling price of an item rises exponentially with its Item Level. Meanwhile, the number of salvaged materials grows by a smaller quantity. Therefore, unless you really need gold quickly, we advise that you salvage items during the first 50 or so levels, and then start selling them for gold after that point, as required.

How to buy back items sold by mistake?

If you’ve accidentally sold the wrong item, don’t panic, as you can quickly get it back. On the shop menu on the left of your screen, you’ll find a Buyback section at the bottom. Here, you’ll see your eight most recently sold items. All you have to do is right-click it again to buy it back for the same price. Be careful, though, as if you sell more than eight items, you won’t be able to buy back the earliest ones.

✓ Empty your inventory

Sell your items regularly to make sure you’ve got plenty of room for more loot. If you have something you want to save for later, just store it in a chest.
