Want to learn how to go berserk in Diablo 4? The word berserk is commonly associated with barbarians and things aren’t any different in Sanctuary.

Going berserk has many benefits as you fight Lilith’s minions across the game’s dungeons and areas. And with Season of Blood approaching, stay updated with the latest Diablo 4 Season 2 content. The Diablo 4 Season 2 start time is nearly here. It’s got plenty of new Diablo 4 vampiric powers to test out on new foes.

What does berserk do in Diablo 4?

Berserk is a status effect that the Barbarian can gain for 25% extra damage and 30% bonus movement speed in Diablo 4. This is irrespective of what weapon you use. While this can only be triggered in some conditions, it lets your Barbarian become a menacing threat to Lilith and her waves of minions. While this doesn’t make you tankier by reducing incoming damage, it’s a purely offensive buff.

Bonus movement speed pairs well with moves like Whirlwind that need you to move around foes. Those looking for a defensive playstyle could pair berserk with the Aggressive Resistance passive for damage resistance. A berserk build could also benefit from the Aspect of Berserk Ripping. Whenever you deal damage while Berserking, this Diablo 4 Aspect inflicts 22% of the base damage dealt as Bleeding damage over 5 seconds.

How to go berserk in Diablo 4?

Going berserk as a Barbarian in Diablo 4 involves using certain skills to trigger this effect. This can be checked in the Diablo 4 Barbarian skill tree in the game. While some skills might not initially let your Barbarian rage, an upgrade can unlock this ability. This can come in handy while building offensive-focused builds like the Diablo 4 Whirlwind Barbarian build.

Here are the skills that let you berserk in Diablo 4:

  • Combat Lunging Strike: Our Critical Strikes with Lunging Strike will grant your Barbarian the Berserking condition for 1.5 seconds. While this won’t happen often, it’s a good option to keep Berserking.
  • Violent Upheaval: If your Upheaval move damages at least 2 enemies, your Barbarian gain Berserking for 2 seconds. Damage at least 4 enemies and this effect is increased to 3 seconds. It’s perfect for thrashing pesky mobs that aren’t too much of a threat.
  • Enhanced War Cry: Your War Cry move bestows Berserking for 4 seconds. One roar is all it takes to start some carnage.
  • Battle Fervor: Damaging an enemy with a Brawling skill gives you Berserking for 1 second. This means that you can occasionally mix up your attacks with Brawling skills to maximize the berserk condition.
  • Fighter’s Steel Grasp: If your Steel Grasp hits an enemy, you gain Berserking for 2 seconds. Use this to extend how long your Barbarian stays in the berserk condition.
  • Warrior’s Death Blow: If your Death Blow move damages an enemy, get Berserking for 3 seconds. It’s a good way to put the pressure on Elite enemies.
  • Wrath of the Berserker: Gain Berserking and Unstoppable for 5 seconds just by using this skill. For the next 10 seconds, direct damage with Basic Skills grants you the Berserking condition for a duration of 5 seconds. Upgrade to Supreme Wrath of the Berserker to unlock another condition. Every 50 Fury you spend increases Berserker’s damage bonus by 25%. And Fury generation is done by basic attacks anyway, making it a win-win. This ultimate skill lets you stay berserking for quite some time as the Barbarian class.
  • Unconstrained: This key passive increases Berserk‘s maximum duration by five seconds and increases its damage bonus by 25%. It’s a solid boost for berserk enthusiasts.

That covers how to go berserk in Diablo 4. Use the Barbarian to deal massive amounts of damage this way. None of the other classes (Rogue, Necromancer, Sorcerer, Druid) have access to this ability.

However, there’s an interesting vampiric power in Season 2 that comes close. Moonrise is among the more powerful vampire powers in Season of Blood. Hit an enemy with a Basic Skill to gain 4% Attack Speed for 10 seconds, stacking up to 5 times. And when you reach maximum stacks, you gain a whopping 160% Basic Skill damage and 15% Movement Speed for 10 seconds. Pairing this with berserk sounds ridiculous.

You’ll need Diablo 4 vampiric pact armour to take these powers for a spin against Lord Zir. Season 2 is out this October on PC, PlayStation 5 (PS5), and Xbox Series X|S.
