The game’s beta access brings in a new level cap for this phase, allowing players to get their hands on new items and weapons. One such gun that has been made available to the players is the Lachmann-762 assault rifle, and this powerful weapon can already be seen causing havoc at the hands of its users. If players like that type of weapon, they’ll probably enjoy the Lachmann 762. However, if you’re more of a fully-auto person, then this assault rifle won’t be like a walk in the park.

The Lachmann 762 falls into the Assault Rifle category, acting as a hybrid between an Assault Rifle and a Marksman Rifle. Armed with a semi-automatic firing mechanism, the rifle packs a hefty punch in mid-range engagements, but the high damage output causes huge amounts of recoil, making it very difficult to maintain accuracy. As an assault rifle, the Lachmann-762 is a powerful option that allows you to dominate the battlefield. While its recoil control could certainly be improved, you’ll soon forget about this con when gunning down your enemies with it.

Lachmann-762 Overview

The Lachmann-762 has impressive versatility—being able to switch between concentrated, accurate burst fire and short periods of full auto. Choose between accuracy and stopping power as the situation demands, and you’ll be able to clean up whole teams of opponents. The Lachmann-762’s in-game description calls it a “high-powered. 458 battle rifle that delivers severe damage at medium range,” and that’s very true. The 762 is very strong in mid-range engagements, and it falters at longer ranges due to its surprisingly low-range stat.

Lachmann-762 Design

The design of the Lachmann-762 is based on a real-life Heckler & Koch G3. The G3 was the service rifle of the armed forces of Germany, developed in the 1950s by the German armament manufacturer Heckler & Koch until it was replaced by the G36 in the 1990s.

Lachmann Meer Weapons Platform

The Lachmann Meer is one of the weapons platforms available in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) and Warzone 2. The Lachmann-762 is the first weapon unlocked in the Lachmann Meer in Modern Warfare 2, shown within the in-game Gunsmith as the first weapon receiver.

The weapons platform enables players to swap out receivers and create entirely new weapons. At level 12, players unlock the LM-S in the Lachmann Meer Weapons Tree. Unlock receivers and swap your way to create up to 4 new weapons consisting of the Lachmann-556, Lachmann-762, RAPP H, and the Lachmann Sub.

Lachmann-762 Stats

The Lachmann-762 comes with both semi-automatic and automatic firing modes. The semi-auto mode will provide better control over gunfire and is the recommended firing mode for this weapon. However, if you want to use the weapon in full automatic fire mode, then we advise you to mount the weapon on a surface to manage the higher recoil of the gun.

Despite having bad recoil and damage compared to the FSS Recon, the Lachmann-762 does have a higher rate of fire and magazine size. Players just need to connect two or three bullets to down an opponent, and the stupid fast time-to-kill (TTK) will ensure that the enemies hardly have any time to react.

TTK refers to the time that is taken by a weapon to down or eliminate an opponent. Nonetheless, TTK is not the only factor that determines the viability of a gun in the list of metas. Other factors like accuracy, recoil control, and damage output are also important to determine whether a firearm is a meta. One can surely state that any weapon with fast or low TTK is definitely a very lethal weapon.

Damage

The Lachmann-762 is capable of getting a one-hit kill at close range in hardcore game modes without a headshot. Headshots will reduce the number of hits needed to kill by one in most circumstances. The Lachmann-762 also has good penetration power. This makes the Lachmann a formidable weapon to go up against when in the right pair of hands. Kill enemies taking cover behind penetrable covers and have a field day.

Accuracy

With accurate burst fire and brief periods of full auto, the Lachmann-762 demonstrates amazing adaptability. As the occasion demands, you can choose between precision and stopping power, and you’ll be able to beat entire teams of enemies.

Recoil Handling

The rifle packs a powerful punch in mid-range encounters, but the high damage output generates enormous amounts of recoil, making accuracy maintenance super challenging. Make sure to get the right set of support attachments such as a decent rear grip and under barrel modification to mitigate the high recoil of the Lachmann-762.

Mobility

The Lachman-762, equipped as a primary weapon, allows users decent levels of mobility. Players can quickly navigate lanes and routes with the Lachman-762 on hand and even relocate to flank routes with ease. But there are still better options available when it comes to flanking tactics and quick lane swaps.

Range

The Lachmann-762 works excellent in medium-range sight lines basically putting enemy operators out of their misery. Paired with decent positioning, a nice little deployable shield, and some squad support, players can easily take care of medium-range encounters in the open spaces of core 6v6 battle maps and the Downtown encounters of Sarrif Bay. But players should beware of gunning against long-range enemy operators as the weapon performs subpar at long-range encounters.

Mid Range

Lachmann 762 is incredible when it comes to mid-range engagements. Although it’s not the most agile weapon in Modern Warfare 2, it’s very good at finishing off targets after three shots to the torso or as a single-shot weapon with a headshot to finish off targets quickly in the medium range.

Long Range

It falls short at longer ranges because of its low range stat so the shots are a little too weak to feel impactful. Since it doesn’t have much range, you might struggle in some of Modern Warfare 2’s wider maps.

How to Unlock The Lachmann-762

To unlock the Lachmann-762, you will need to gain Rank 16 in the beta. Upon reaching rank 16, you will have access to the Lachmann-762 along with its attachments. Additionally, the gun will be available in custom classes. Level up the gun further by using it in matches.

Leveling up the gun will help players build the best loadout possible. With Modern Warfare 2’s new Gunsmith 2.0, load-outs have become more diverse.

Bugs

While playing on the PC beta, some players reported that at level 17  the Lachman-762 is still locked with the message stating “Item unlocked at level 16”.

Give the feedback on their feedback page and maybe they will fix it, but knowing their track record with bugs, probably not.

Blueprints

Blueprints can be viewed in the armory section of the weapons tab. Currently, no blueprints are available for the Lachmann-762, which will be listed once the game officially launches.

Attachments

You will have five attachment slots available for your Lachmann-762. By controlling the Lachmann-762’s sharp recoil, which is a characteristic of many Modern Warfare 2 weapons, the attachments mentioned below make the weapon much easier to control. They do, however, also boost the gun’s bullet velocity and damage range, making it one of the best weapons in Modern Warfare 2. Attachment selection is crucial when it comes to succeeding with the Lachmann 762.

Go-to Equipment for the Lachmann-762

  • Lethal: Semtex
  • Tactical: Flash Grenades
  • Field Upgrade: Trophy System

Semtex is great for giving you a couple of extra kills. The best way to make an impact is by tossing it at an adversary. The flash grenade works equally well. If there is someone there, fly around them to mark the elimination and use it to control the corner.

Utilize the trophy system to lock down up to three pieces of enemy equipment for increased protection from approaching grenades. When attempting to get control of a Domination flag, this is fantastic.

Alternatives

The alternative to the Lachmann-762 is the FTAC Recon which has become one of the best battle rifles to use in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It’s a hard-hitting weapon, and despite it being marketed as a marksman gun, there are a lot of ways to shape it.
