PSVR 2 motion sickness isn’t as fun as immersing yourself in Horizon Call of the Mountain or Gran Turismo 7, so let’s go over just how to stop it.

The PSVR 2 launched in late February and has already positioned itself as one of the impressive hardware launches of 2023. We’ve gone over a few of the basic how-tos, including how to fix blurriness and the best PSVR 2 accessories.

While this isn’t a bad reflection on the PSVR 2, it is possible to feel motion sickness with the PSVR 2. This is mostly a limitation of VR itself, and not a specific problem with the PSVR 2. The headset obviously sits on your head and completely limits your vision. You’re then immersed in whatever virtual reality you choose. However, as you move within the game’s world, your body may not equate to the same movement, giving you motion sickness.

Here’s how to stop it:

  • Stop if you feel any discomfort
  • Chew gum or a lolly
  • Limit time with the headset on
  • Use motion sickness bands
  • Avoid using teleport mode

There’s a few basic steps listed above that can improve your experience with motion sickness, however the only real practical and technical piece of advice would be to avoid using teleport mode.

This mode is designed to allow you to move in-game without having to move in real life, however this is often how motion sickness is enacted.

Many games allow you to toggle between teleport mode and real movement, however there are of course some games such as Gran Turismo 7 where this might not be possible.

Other possible remedies for motion sickness are to make sure you’re facing forward and move as naturally as you can. However, sometimes, there is really little you can do to avoid motion sickness.

We’re going to be keeping an eye out for other remedies for motion sickness when using the PSVR 2 however, the best course of action is usually just to stop playing, and to avoid, at all costs, powering through.
