If you’re wondering what the Tears of the Kingdom Version 1.1.0 patch notes are – you’ve come to the right place.

With a release May 12th, there were initially some concerns raised with the Tears of the Kingdom performance that was spotted by those with hands-on demos with the game. While 60FPS for TotK is unachievable – at the moment – it seems that getting to a steady and consistent 30FPS is the first step. However, since the launch of the game – a recent patch has supposedly fixed these issues.

On a system released in 2017, this might no always be possible, so a day one patch might be the only solution.

Apparently, the latest Day One patch (v. 1.1.0) fixes frame rate issues that were previously reported on by reviewers. You can read more about this in our Tears of the Kingdom review roundup.

Was there a Tears of the Kingdom day one patch?

As with all games, we predict that you can expect a day one patch fairly swiftly following the release of the new Zelda game. We saw a day one patch released with Breath of the Wild (way back in 2017), though it’s entirely possible that Tears of the Kingdom sees a different launch.

It’s also important to note that even before launch, Tears of the Kingdom has seen a 1.1.0 patch parsed. This functions as a day zero patch, so it’s possible we could see another one flashed after the launch.

The Tears of the Kingdom day one patch would likely not launch for a few hours till after the game was fully released – as is often the case with games such as this. We saw it happen with the Jedi Survivor day one patch which took nearly two days to flash after launch. It’s not really clear why game publishers choose to delay the day one patch, though it’s possible it’s likely down to timing.

What we’d like to see in the Tears of the Kingdom day one patch

As is often the case with game launches, there’s a slew of features and changes that would only serve to enhance the gameplay experience. Here’s a few of the main things that we would like to see in the day one patch.

  • Increased stability
  • Accessibility options

Unfortunately, Tears of the Kingdom has had no sign of launching with accessibility options, making it difficult for anyone affected to decide on whether or not to purchase the game. If it does launch without proper accessibility options – this is certainly something for the developers to integrate after launch, at the very least.

Alongside that, increased stability and consistent performance wouldn’t hurt anyone. aside from Ganon.
