Microsoft is kicking off the new year with a bang. There are many great Xbox exclusives to look forward to throughout the year and we will be getting a fresh look at some of them during the Developer Direct 2024 showcase. Here is the start time for when the Xbox Developer Direct 2024 will begin in PT, ET, and UK GMT, along with the official list of games and how to watch the event live.
Even before the showcase begins there is lots for Microsoft loyalists to look forward to in the near future. Xbox Game Pass Q1 2024 is getting a remake of one of the best-ever JRPGs in February, and the upcoming 2024 games release schedule includes Microsoft exclusives such as the long-awaited S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 which finally has a released date. Not only that but there is a bevy of third-party multi-platform releases hitting the console soon such as Tekken 8 and Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League.
While Q1 2024 is certainly stacked, the upcoming Xbox Developer Direct 2024 showcase will show everything else to anticipate over the next 12 months.
Xbox Developer Direct 2024 showcase start date
The start date for the Xbox Developer Direct 2024 is January 18th. This is confirmed by the Xbox Wire. It has become an annual event for Microsoft to begin the new year and in 2023 it saw the shadowdrop release of one of Microsoft’s best console exclusives, HiFi Rush. There were murmurings from prominent leaker eXtas1stv that we could possibly see another shadow drop release this year from Psychonauts 2 developer, Double Fine, but Microsoft appears to have dismissed the shadow drop talk.
What time does the Xbox Developer Direct 2024 showcase start?
The start time for the Xbox Developer Direct 2024 showcase is 12 PM PT/ 3 PM ET/ 8 PM GMT on January 18th. According to Microsoft, the event will last up to one hour max and it will be followed by The Elder Scrolls Online 2024 reveal. This will be a showcase of ZeniMax previewing their biggest update for the year.
You will definitely want to catch the event live as it will be the first time we see gameplay for the Indiana Jones game being developed by Wolfenstein developer, MachineGames. We have only seen a teaser trailer, but the title of the Indiana Jones game has possibly been uncovered. It is supposedly set to come out this year, and we will see ‘more than 10 minutes of game and developer insights, including details about the game’s setting and story, how fans actually play as Indy, additional details from his next-globe trotting adventure, and the premiere of the first gameplay trailer’.

How to watch Xbox Developer Direct 2024 live
You will be able to watch the Xbox Developer Direct 2024 showcase live on the Xbox YouTube and Twitch channels. Again, it will last under one-hour long followed by ZeniMax’s Elder Scrolls online presentation showcasing the game’s 2024 updates that include a new story, zone, and other major features.

In addition to releasing this year, all of the above will join Game Pass when they eventually come out. This just goes to show what another incredible year Game Pass subscribers have ahead of them whether on console or PC.
To follow up on Microsoft’s showcase, the first PS4 and PS5 State of Play 2024 is reportedly coming soon. This will showcase what’s planned for PlayStation throughout the year similar to Developer Direct for Xbox.
