Microsoft is set to livestream their Xbox Developer Direct 2024 showcase. This will feature several games coming out this year, but arguably the most exciting set to be featured is the Indiana Jones game developed by MachineGames. We cannot wait for our first look at gameplay, and the title of Xbox’s Indiana Jones game has possibly been uncovered by sleuths online.
The Xbox Developer Direct 2024 showcase is set for January 18th. It will feature Avowed from beloved Fallout New Vegas developer, Obsidian Entertainment, and it will also showcase more of Hellblade 2 from Ninja Theory. In addition, we will see Ara History Untold from Oxide Games. All of these titles are touted to join Xbox throughout the next 12 months.
We’ve seen gameplay for Avowed and we’ve seen lots of exceptional mocap performance from Hellblade 2. However, we haven’t seen anything of Indiana Jones aside from a very brief teaser. Fortunately, that’s all set to change next week, and we may already know the title of the game.
Indiana Jones game title possibly uncovered
The possibly uncovered title for the Indiana Jones game is Indiana Jones And The Great Circle. This comes courtesy of Twitter user Kurakasis. Per their tweet, Lucasfilm registered the following domains on January 29th:
- http://indianajones-and-the-great-circle.com
- http://indianajonesandthegreatcircle.com
Their tweet also says that Lucasfilm filed for ‘THE GREAT CIRCLE’ trademark in Europe with goods and services for video games. Mobile is included, but it’s noted that this could be because games can be played on phones via streaming services. You can see the trademark on Euipo.
As of writing, this title isn’t official. All we know about the game is that it’s being developed by Wolfenstein developer, MachineGames. It will land on PC but it will also be exclusive to Xbox consoles thanks to Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda.
We haven’t seen anything other than a teaser trailer so far, but Microsoft says the upcoming Developer Direct will feature ‘more than 10 minutes of game and developer insights, including details about the game’s setting and story, how fans actually play as Indy, additional details from his next-globe trotting adventure, and the premiere of the first gameplay trailer’.
