Wuthering Waves update 1.3 closed beta has begun, resulting in dozens of gameplay leaks surfacing online. Fans have been excited for the next chapter of WuWa ever since Kuro confirmed its new playable characters, and all of the gameplay has gotten fans even more stoked. In addition to footage of The Shorekeeper and Youhu, more Wuthering Waves 1.3 leaks show a new area to explore that is dripping in “depressing sci-fi atmosphere”.

The release date for Wuthering Waves update 1.3 will land towards the end of September. Leaks have shown stunning gameplay and animations for The Shorekeeper, demonstrating her previous leaked abilities such as the power to transform into a butterfly. The next chapter will also introduce Youhu, and it’s expected that she will arrive before The Shorekeeper thanks to the order of reveals by Kuro.

While we cannot wait for The Shorekeeper and Youhu, WuWa fans can also anticipate a new area to explore that appears to be connected to the previously leaked Black Shores.

On the WutheringWavesLeaks subreddit, OP KarlSQuent has shared leaked screenshots from the 1.3 closed beta. The leaks come from Mero on Telegram, and the Reddit post is accompanied by screenshots showing “Some new location related to Black Shores“.

You can check out the screenshots in the embedded Reddit post below:

Reacting to the leaks, one of the top replies says, “F**K YEAHHHH DEPRESSING SCI-FI ATMOSPHERE”. Another reply says, “Hmmm it give off warframe vibe for some reason, and PGR too”.

More comments say, “The actual scifi/urban stuff is what WW sorely needed. Hopefully 1.3 and 2.0 turn things around for the game”. Another comment full of praise says, “All these places are so beautiful and look so modern, I’m really enjoying WuWa’s aesthetics”.

As for what the Black Shores is all about, it’s a map that was leaked at least a year ago. A WIP tour was shared on YouTube by Steparu, and it provided a very early look at the new playground. You can check out the video below:
