Wuthering Waves fans are in for a treat with the approaching release of update 1.3. The new banner characters are official, and WuWa players are already head over heels in love with Youhu and especially The Shorekeeper. While these new banner characters are official, Wuthering Waves fans have been reminded of a leaked map previously teased by Kuro.
A lot is going on in the world of WuWa. The game has just beaten Final Fantasy and Honkai Star Rail to a big award, meanwhile, the launch of 1.3 is scheduled for September. Leaks have revealed exciting kits for Youhu and The Shorekeeper, meanwhile, rumors suggest the game will transition from 1.4 straight into 2.0 to mark the beginning of a new year in 2025.
While new characters are always exciting, players are also looking forward to new areas to explore. Although it’s not specifically for 1.3, Wuthering Waves fans have been reminded of a previously leaked map.
Wuthering Waves Black Shores map leak
On the Wuthering Waves leaks subreddit, OP Swimming_Summer_1782 has shared a post titled, “Wuthering Waves Developer Account Teases Black Shores“. The Twitter account is WW_devteam, and the tease in question is the concept art used for the account’s profile.
As for what the Black Shores is all about, it’s a map that was leaked at least a year ago. A WIP tour was shared on YouTube by Steparu, and it provides a very early look at the new playground. You can check out the video below:
Unfortunately, there’s no leaked release date for when the Black Shores will arrive. Simply guessing, it could possibly be 2.0 to mark the beginning of the game’s second series of chapters.
It’s not a leak from Kuro, and the image has been used as the account’s banner since at least before 1.2. Kuro also teased the Black Shores in a dev talk uploaded a year ago.
However, many fans have only just noticed the concept art and the WW_devteam account, and it has reminded them about the existence of the Black Shores island.
Reacting to the concept art on Reddit, some comments are disappointed with the irony that the Black Shores “ain’t looking black,” but most comments are full of excitement. Again, there’s no knowledge of when it will arrive, but hopefully it’ll come out by at least 2.0.
