We’re well into Warzone 2’s second season – which saw the return of Resurgence -a smaller, faster mode that’s quickly established itself as a favourite amongst the Call of Duty massive.

Unfortunately, some fans of the mode have been frustrated by the sporadic rollout of the different squad sizes of the mode – with it only available in specific configurations such as solo or quads for several weeks.

However, the official Call of Duty account has now confirmed that with the mid-season refresh – Season 2 Reloaded, squads of all sizes will be able to enjoy the mode when they’re added to the playlists for the remainder of the season.

Once the mid-season update hits, players will be able to play Resurgence in Solo, Duos, Trios or Quads by selecting the appropriate option from Warzone’s menu.

Warzone 2 Resurgence Mode release date

Warzone 2 Resurgence Mode arrived as part of Season 2 on February 15 as per an official announcement from the development teams behind the mode.

Ahead of the launch, the official game accounts offered a sneak peek centered around the new Resurgence map called Ashika Island. You can check it out for yourself below.

What is resurgence mode in Warzone 2?

In case you’re unfamiliar, Resurgence Mode is a faster paced version of Warzone’s main Battle Royale mode that takes place on a smaller map.

Crucially, the main difference is when a player dies in a squad. Usually when a player is killed, they’re taken to the Gulag to fight for a chance to respawn. If unsuccessful, the rest of the squad must buy back their fallen comrade from a Buy Station at a cost.

In Resurgence, however, deceased players are constantly dropped back into the battle on a regular timer – as long as at least one person in the squad is still alive. This makes for some hectic engagements, as it’s crucial to ensure a whole squad is dealt with before their teammates return.

We’ll find out more about Season 2 of MW2 and Warzone 2 very soon – and Season 2 arrives on February 15, 2023. In the meantime, MW2 players are offering their hopes for future multiplayer maps.
