Warzone 2 DMZ Hostage Rescue

Finding a Rescue Hostage mission in DMZ is simple enough. Look for a contract symbol on the DMZ map, and the correct type will be displaying an image of handcuffs.

Rescue Hostage missions are a great way to quickly gain DMZ rewards as they are straightforward to pursue and complete. The standard setup for a Rescue Hostage DMZ mission is as follows:

  • Locate the target
  • Dispatch AI guards at the target location
  • Disarm the bomb
  • Rescue the hostage

Warzone 2 DMZ

Disarming the bomb is the most difficult part of the whole ordeal, as its countdown timer begins to tick as soon as you’re close enough to the target location, giving you a scant 20 seconds to stop the explosion.

Relying on your team is essential, as there’s just too much going on to be able to reliably complete the hostage rescue solo. Going right for the bomb is necessary to avoid a detonation, but without allies to deal with the guards, you’re likely to find yourself gunned down before ever making it to the explosive.

Balancing your approach between picking off guards and prioritizing the bomb is crucial to successfully completing this mission type.

Additionally, rescuing the hostage involves being unable to wield weapons temporarily until the hostage has been evacuated to safety. Planning team roles ahead of time and deciding who will be providing covering fire and who will be carrying the hostage can help avoid messy mid-mission decisions.
