A Warzone 2 Ranked mode has been announced by Infinity Ward and Raven Software that’s apparently set to launch with the release of Season 3 Reloaded. However, this new competitive offering for the CoD battle royale will initially be made available in its “Beta” phase, meaning that the developers will still be testing out many of its features once it’s been released.

With the MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 4 release date still a handful of weeks away, the imminent addition of a Ranked mode should help boost its players since it had been suffering a mass exodus of users in recent weeks. Since Infinity Ward and Raven Software are still testing it out, though, it could still be plagued with a ton of glitches so expectations may need to be tempered.

According to Activision’s announcement, the new battle royale match offering will feature “competitive settings, a progressive rank system, a visual skill system, and seasonal rewards.” You’ll gradually be able to progress through the ranks by improving your Skill Rating based on performance, which is heavily influenced by your kills, assists, and placement in a match.

There will be a total of eight ranks you can progress through, starting with the initial Bronze tier in which all Warzone 2 players will initially be placed in. Consistent match performances and high placement will allow you to advance through these different skill divisions until you eventually reach the Top 250, wherein you will then be featured on a “public leaderboard for all to see.”

Although it will seemingly take a ton of grinding to reach the pinnacle of Warzone 2’s Ranked mode, the bragging rights you get may just be enough to spur some people on. But with it still only being in its ‘Beta’ phase, there may still be more mechanics added as we progress through the season.
