Activision has revealed that NBA superstar Kevin Durant will be making his way to Modern Warfare 2 as a new Operator. Durant’s addition to the game was revealed through a short clip posted by the official Call of Duty Twitter account wherein the words “Easy Money Sniper” could be seen plastered on a billboard.
For those unfamiliar, this seemingly random string of words is actually KD’s username on Twitter, which further confirms his upcoming involvement in the game. Though no additional details were shown in the snippet, the two-time NBA champion’s Operator skin will most likely be available through the purchase of a bundle, much like how to get the Shredder skin.
This latest collaboration with a celebrated basketball icon isn’t the first time that Activision has brought the exciting sports world into their latest series installment. Back in Season 1, the developers similarly introduced three football legends to the fray in Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr., and Paul Pogba as Operator skins that were also purchasable through separate bundles.
With this in mind, Kevin Durant may not be the only basketball legend that’ll be making their way into Modern Warfare 2 in the near future as several other athletes have also been known to support the latest CoD entry. Some of the names that come to mind include perennial all-stars such as Devin Booker, Karl-Anthony Towns, and De’Aaron Fox, all of whom have frequently been seen playing the game during their down time.
However, this is still merely speculation at the time of writing so their likeness may not actually be added to the game at any point. Nevertheless, Kevin Durant’s impending arrival to Modern Warfare 2 should still drive a horde of sports fans to the game at a time when it needs support the most.
