Aside from some in-game tweaks, most of the enhancements added to this launch focused on the game’s visual aspects. Unfortunately, CD Projekt Red’s emphasis on their title’s look may have come at the cost of some performance aspects.

A recent Reddit thread has asked The Witcher 3 community to detail some of their experiences with bugs during the update’s early stages. Based on the responses received, it seems that a large number of people are going through various types of glitches as they progress through the game.

One responder seemingly had a particularly rough time with a toxicity bug they had encountered during their playthrough. Their comment had this to say about their problem: “Meditating did not remove my toxicity level, white honey did nothing. Geralt is quickly dying due to the change in the skills capping toxicity protection at 80% and there is nothing I can do to reduce toxicity.”

Based on other similar comments, the toxicity debuff glitch seems to be a common problem as other replies have reported experiencing the same problem. In addition, graphical malfunctions have also been typical in other users’ experiences.

One player stated the following in a response: “Still haven’t figured out optimum settings, it’s a slideshow with RT on even with DLSS on auto.” The same user also mentioned having a RTX 3080 GPU, which is already more than necessary to run the game smoothly.

Hopefully, CD Projekt Red is able to address these issues soon as plenty of players are still as excited as ever to begin playing the third installment of Geralt’s tale again.
