Sega has announced that it’ll be releasing an all-new mini console in the form of the Sega Mega Drive Mini 2 this October.
The device is a follow-up to the original Sega Mega Drive Mini in 2019 and was first unveiled back in June. The new console will include 61 new games, and even includes some Sega Mega CD titles.

The European release will be the same day and date as that of the US version. That, of course, will be named the Sega Genesis Mini 2 to reflect the console’s different name between regions.
Sega Mega Drive Mini 2 – release date and more
The Sega Mega Drive Mini 2 and the Sega Genesis Mini 2 will both release on the same day; namely – October 27, 2022.
Pre-orders are live for both the US and Europe right now. If you’d like to secure your console for the day of release, you can do so from Amazon below.
The package will set you back $99.99 and comes with the console, one six-button wired controller, a USB power adapter, power cable and HDMI cable. An AC adapter is not included.
