When is the next Manor Lords update?

  • There is no confirmed timeline for the next update but we do know what’s coming.
  • Expect the first month’s updates to fix bugs and balance in-game mechanics.
  • Developer Slavic Magic is working on homeless bugs, damage tuning, trade oversupply, and sawpit efficiency.

Manor Lords just launched to solid reviews from both fans and critics. The Early Access title from Slavic Magic is still in active development and here’s what you need to know about the next update in Manor Lords.

When is the next Manor Lords update?

While we don’t have an official release, Manor Lords will receive an update fairly shortly as the developer has detailed what’s next for the city-building game. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), developer Slavic Magic (Greg Styczeń) has covered some of the improvements they’re bringing to Manor Lords:

  • Fix all the weird homeless bugs.
  • Tune the archer damage.
  • Tune the trade oversupply mechanics (it’s too harsh and punishes regional specialization).
  • Slow down the rate of the AI claiming territories.
  • Improve the sawpit efficiency/storage.

Have there been any recent Manor Lords updates?

As Manor Lords released on April 26, 2024, there haven’t been any major updates just yet. If you’re thinking of taking the plunge, our own Tom Bardwell has you covered with his Manor Lords review. While no major features have been confirmed, the developer has weighed in on conversations regarding new mechanics like multiplayer. Expect them to focus on bug fixes and balance changes before working on new additions to the core experience. Fortunately, developer Slavic Magic has confirmed that these patches will be compatible with old saves.

What can you expect from a new Manor Lords update?

With over a million copies sold, Manor Lords joins breakout hits such as Palworld and Helldivers 2. While those two titles aren’t AAA either, they have entire teams working on their multiplayer experiences. As for Manor Lords, it’s largely handled by a solo developer. In a Steam post, they mention that they “expect the first month of patches to be just bug fixes and polish.”

In earlier conversations, Slavic Magic mentioned the possibility of adding more features to the game. Leader units, single-person units, town guards, and dynasties will not be coming to the game. According to the official Discord FAQ, the developer is considering naval battles, cavalry, and more maps but only after the core experience is in good shape.

Developer Slavic Magic is also considering “an open pre_release beta branch so that everyone who owns the game can check and test the most recent pre-release unstable version.” Despite being an Early Access title, the core game already feels complete on Steam, GOG, and PC Game Pass. Reviewer Tom attests to that in his 8/10 review with “What’s there is impressive and nearly full-formed, confident in what it’s trying to achieve.” If you want something specific to be added, you can contact the developer via their feedback page.
